Yuechuan Yuye was a setter blessed with both genius and maxed-out luck.
To elaborate:
From joining the volleyball team in middle school to becoming a professional setter and winning three consecutive championships in Italy, he never once lost a match in his volleyball career.
As a result, he was called the immovable king (victor) of the court.
That's the key point.
But everything has its limits, and an unbroken record of zero losses came with a downside: Yuye realized something was wrong with his state of mind.
For the sake of his future volleyball career, he put the brakes on in time and took a break, planning to get his mindset back on track before starting again.
So he returned to his hometown in Japan and became a coach.
Then he unexpectedly heard that a new king had emerged among this year's high schoolers.
What? Someone else had the same title as him? They must be a one-in-a-million genius. He had to go see what was going on.
...So he was called the Tyrannical King because he played too selfishly!!! (shouting face)
After making the other guy cry, Yuye had no choice but to treat him to a meal as an apology.
The other guy wolfed down five huge bowls, then asked for another.
Curiosity satisfied and dinner over, Yuye waved goodbye and headed home.
Only to be asked to teach the guy volleyball.
What was this guy, who'd emptied his wallet, even saying?
Kageyama (kgym) had loved volleyball since he was little.
When he was eight, he watched a recording of Inarizaki playing against Fukurodani with his grandfather.
As Yuye led the whole team to an overwhelming victory and the championship, little Kageyama said nothing. He just stared at the television without blinking.
From that moment on, he made up his mind to become a setter.
He never expected his lifelong idol to appear before him at his lowest point!
For the first time in his life, the boy who hated troubling others took the initiative and made a request.
"Mr. Tsukikawa, please teach me how to play volleyball!"
Mini-Scene 1
"Tobio-chan, you know that before I'll teach you, you have to pass a test. I need to see if you're truly ready to go all in."
"Yes, senpai! I'll show you how determined I am!"
"Tobio-chan, I'm thirsty."
"Here you go, senpai. Have some water."
"Tobio-chan, my place is such a mess."
"Senpai, let me clean it up."
"Tobio-chan, this chair isn't comfortable."
"Senpai, you can sit on me."
"We definitely don't need that!"
Mini-Scene 2
"All right, I'm staying over at Tobio's tonight!"
"Wait, senpai, absolutely not!"
"Huh? Why won't you open the door? Let me in, come on, let me in!"
He was frantically stuffing every Yuye poster and piece of merch in the house under the bed.
But his mischievous senpai caught him anyway.
"S-Senpai!"
"Oh my, Tobio's collected so many of my posters. This one, oh, this was the year I won my first Olympic championship. It brings back memories."
Elements in this story:
The protagonist is adored by everyone. Kageyama starts off in the lower position emotionally (maybe with some stalkerish and self-esteem issues?). They are seven years apart, though that might vary a little because the author is bad at math. In any case, please consider them seven years apart. The final happy ending is Diamond High's 18-year-old Kageyama with 25-year-old Tsukikawa, who's about to be out.
There are a few typos and minor plot bugs. The author, whose procrastination is maxed out, is slowly fixing them, but they don't affect the story's readability.

Coming soon, a Haikyuu!! story: "Bikini Bottom High School Plays Volleyball Too!" The blurb is below. If you're interested, take a look at my profile. It will be starting soon!
"What's this huge building shaped like a pineapple?"
"It's a gym, specially built for volleyball!"
"Then what's that rectangular building with a Krusty Krab sign out front?"
"That's the cafeteria. Their burgers are delicious!"
"And what about that building that looks like a rock someone dropped on the ground, with a weird stick stuck on top?"
"You're so silly, haha. That's the dorm!"
It's all pretty obvious, right?
The person asking swallowed, then asked one last question:
"Then how did they all suddenly show up overnight?"
Is it really that obvious?
Karasuno High School, in the countryside of Miyagi Prefecture, had recently witnessed a huge commotion.
Several simply designed yet adorable buildings had sprung up out of nowhere. Then teachers in every classroom introduced them.
"Bikini Bottom High School, from the United States, is visiting Karasuno for an exchange program and volleyball training. We hope you'll all get along during their stay."
"They're from America! That's amazing."
"No way, no way."
The new transfer students looked just like the buildings that had appeared out of nowhere:
Incredibly mysterious...
Transfer Student No. 1
A yellow sponge who went around grinning like an idiot all day, with yellow hair, sapphire-blue eyes, and two buck teeth showing whenever he smiled.
To Kageyama, he looked a lot like the orange-haired guy on the team who loved volleyball.
Every day at 4:30, the transfer student would appear at the entrance to the volleyball court and shout excitedly:
"I'm ready! I'm ready! I'm ready! I'm ready!"
He wasn't just unusually passionate about volleyball himself. He would even enthusiastically pull his teammates and opponents into working hard alongside him.
"Don't you think playing volleyball is the happiest, most wonderful thing in the world?"
Squidward/Tsukishima Kei, woken up at three in the morning and still half asleep: I don't think so...
Transfer Student No. 2
This guy had pink hair and looked harmless, like a law-abiding citizen. But once you got to know him, it turned out his head was empty and he was a dazed simpleton, standing there with drool at the corner of his mouth, stupid enough to drool yellow soup...
Hey, hey, why are the insults getting worse and worse?
Despite his ridiculous demeanor, his plays on the court were crafty and unpredictable. Sometimes, his skill was so astounding that you had to wonder if he was a fool who was secretly wise!
"You..."
"How do you..."
Kageyama Tobio struggled to ask him for advice: "How do you set the ball so it matches what the hitter wants?"
Patrick Star: "Because SpongeBob and I are the best friends in the world! Our minds are one!"
Kageyama Tobio: So that's how you get a ball that can be hit!
His gaze sharpened, and he immediately turned toward the unsuspecting orange-haired guy.
If he could make it happen, then he, too, would become the very bestest (retch) friend of the orange-haired guy!
And Bikini Bottom High School had seven guys just like this hidden dragon!
The Miyagi Prefecture teams being put through the wringer: Don't come any closer!
Luckily, there was a way out. Soon, the suffering wasn't limited to the teams in their prefecture. Bikini Bottom High School made it out of Miyagi and charged all the way to the national tournament!
Every prefecture's teams: Seriously, don't come over here!!!
Theme: Life holds endless possibilities.
Teacher! ! ! Isn't the variety show missing a segment? ! ! !
In fact, reality is not so gentle... I will ask some very official questions and then randomly prescribe tests and medicines. In the end, after a few years of treatment, I found that it is not the disease at all... (I do not mean to belittle or slander psychiatrists, but really if it is a doctor with no ability, it will delay the condition for many years)
No, isn't it? There's still a bit missing?
I don't think so. Take a gamble. Why did this author secretly update it? [Come on]
It feels like you still can't express your feelings, right? Yuno's condition is not very stable yet.
[Purple Sugar] kswlwowwwww please make more progress hahahaha
Teacher! ! ! Why are you stuck here?
? ? ? ? Why are you stuck here? ? ?
That's not right. That's not right. This is wrong! ! !
How can I be stuck here? ! (Very shocked)
Me! ! ! Think! ! ! Look! ! ! Follow up! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
? ? ? Why does this episode end at the entrance? What about the back? ?
