[Fairy Tale] A Child Is the Poor Man's Comeuppance

Selonie never really planned to raise a child, but as a top-tier mage who loves studying forbidden magic, accidents are inevitable.

For instance, one day she woke up to find that her house was gone, and so was her money.

Well, she'd banished all her money, but that wasn't a big deal. As the saying goes, while the neighbors stockpile grain, I stockpile guns. The neighbors are my pantry. Surely, seeing how poor she was, they wouldn't mind lending her a helping hand.

That took care of the first problem. Now for the second: on the night she'd banished her money, she played around with forbidden magic and accidentally made herself a child.

The neighbors could generously lend her money, but what was she supposed to do about a child?

Well, once again, her kind neighbors could help.

She'd heard there were seven dwarven brothers living in the forest. They were timid and easy to push around, oh no, considerate and understanding. They'd surely be happy to help Selonie raise her child :).

Little skit:

Selonie gives her verdict on fairy-tale characters.

The seven little dwarves: Hmm, not bad. Just right for making little toys for Anno, and their height makes them ideal playmates!

Snow White: Your story is perfect for teaching Anno about stranger danger.

The Magic Mirror: Tsk, I was just missing a copy of One Hundred Thousand Whys. What a coincidence!

The Little Mermaid: A lucrative underwater babysitting gig. All it takes is a soul! What a bargain!

Before you read:

1. This is not a normal childcare story. Selonie is no good person; she's a truly evil protagonist who exploits everyone!

2. Parents who lack empathy can't raise emotionally sensitive children.

Theme: No matter how poor you are, don't shortchange your children.
