Three Thousand Floating Worlds 2

All the little skits in this book come from stories I plan to write or have already started. If you like any of them, feel free to leave a comment~

In this vast world, I love three things: the sun, the moon, and you.

The sun is the morning, the moon is the evening, and you are every morning and evening.

"Am I truly of no use?" The girl knelt before the young deity, tears in her eyes.

The deity was taken aback. "What?"

"Is humanity's faith truly of no use to you?" Tears spilled one after another from her eyes. The girl reached out, trying to grasp the hem of the deity's robe, but her hand faltered and drew back.

"..."

The deity was silent for a while, then crouched down and looked the girl in the eye.

"A deity does not need humanity to offer up everything it has."

"Then... then are you no longer willing to protect us?"

If that wasn't the case, why had the deity ordered all the statues destroyed?

Had the god abandoned them?

The girl wept inconsolably.

The deity reached out and gently wiped away her tears.

"It isn't that I will no longer protect you. It's that you no longer need me."

"From now on, there will be no despair in this world that leaves you powerless no matter how much you give. You no longer need to pray for a deity's protection."

"But... but following you is the only purpose of my life. Without you, I fear I will never know another moment of joy."

"That's not true." The deity gently stroked the girl's head and said, "Learning to love yourself should be your life's purpose."

"I've seen you with white hair, and now I've seen you with black hair. I can say my life has been well spent, having met you."

Theme: Feeling strongly about you without really knowing you, relying only on instinct
