Starting Pitcher, Charge!

Apart from horse duty, field duty, and sparring...

Shugo: There's also ball duty! (Sparkly eyes)

-

There is no Saniwa at Honmaru "X," only a child who was raised there from age zero to twelve: Shugo.

Ever since a tennis racket appeared at Honmaru, twelve-year-old Shugo has had a duty all his own:

[Ball Duty].

The tennis club at Nara powerhouse Kabuto Academy has one precious ace.

At the Kansai Tournament, after losing both of the first two doubles matches, Shugo played Singles Three and defeated Shitenhoji's rookie star. After successfully lifting his seniors' spirits...

Kabuto Academy made it to Nationals as the runner-up in the Kansai Tournament.

The tennis club captain choked up. "Shugo, you've done more than enough. We're the ones who've held you back."

The tennis club's one and only standout, Shugo: "Wow, Toyama-kun is amazing!"

At the Nationals draw, Kabuto Academy ended up in the same bracket as the Demon King, Rikkai.

In the third round of the knockout stage, after losing Singles Three and Doubles Two, Shugo played Singles Two against Rikkai's Emperor, Sanada...

Kabuto Academy's run at Nationals ended with a place in the top six.

The tennis club captain choked up. "Shugo, you've done more than enough. We're the ones who've held you back."

The tennis club's one and only standout, Shugo: "Wow, Sanada-senpai is amazing!"

Rikkai and Seigaku faced off in the Nationals final. The members of Kabuto Academy's tennis club, who hadn't made the final, brought their precious ace to watch.

After the match, Shugo's puppy eyes sparkled.

[Ball Duty Idol List +1 +1 +1...]

Not long after Nationals ended, however, the captain of Kabuto Academy's tennis club received a special letter.

[Shugo's Diary]

X Month X Day, Weather: Mr. Sun is out
