Red Phoenix, Pink Phoenix, Flower Phoenix

The national middle school championship has always been dominated by two schools, who take first and second place.

The title alternates each year: next year it'll be either Makino Fuji or Rikkai.

After returning to Japan, Shiranui Moriya received an invitation to the U-17 training camp.

Thinking it would be a waste to turn down a chance to train, Shiranui Moriya slung his tennis bag over his shoulder and went.

Week one.

The coaches here may have bad tempers, but the scenery is beautiful, the facilities are excellent, and the cafeteria food is great.

Week two.

The high schoolers here may have bad tempers, but the middle schoolers who just arrived are actually pretty nice.

Week three.

Oh no... The guy with the worst temper is back.

The year the U-17 training camp made an exception and admitted middle schoolers, Byodoin Phoenix returned from an overseas expedition and ran into the "traitor" from three years ago.

So, right in front of everyone, his expression changed and he went up and threw a punch...

At the wall.

Byodoin sneered, "Well, if it isn't the coward who ran away all those years ago."

Onlookers: They're definitely bitter rivals.

In the cafeteria.

Byodoin mocked the person he hadn't seen in three years. "Is that all the coward eats after all these years?"

Onlookers: This is exactly the flavor! They're definitely enemies!

On the court.

Byodoin rested his racket on his shoulder and made a sarcastic remark to the person playing next to him. "Hey, is that all the coward's learned in all these years?"

Onlookers: They're about to fight! They're about to fight!

In the hallway.

Byodoin stopped the person heading back to the dorm and asked in a deadpan voice, "Who are you playing doubles with?"

If it was Tokugawa, the overly friendly guy who kept trying to get close, then he'd take him out under cover of night.

If it was Yukimura, the annoying kid he'd known since middle school, then he'd take him out under cover of night.

Overly friendly guy who kept trying to get close, Tokugawa: ...What a weirdo.

Annoying kid he'd known since middle school, Yukimura: ...^^

Byodoin: Whatever, I have a bad temper. I'll kill them all!

-

Onlookers: Oh no! Run! The rivals have changed!
