The God of Wine's Groveling Ex-Wife Chase [Greek Mythology]

The Titan girl Aura finds the wounded Dionysus, god of wine.

As a member of an ancient race of gods who once ruled the world before Zeus drove them out,

Aura hides her identity as she cares for the wounded Dionysus.

After spending many days together, Aura gradually falls for the taciturn god.

At the news, Dionysus, usually cold and expressionless, wears a look of grief mixed with resentment.

"Are you unhappy?" Aura asks.

Dionysus turns to look at her, then says something Aura never would have imagined.

"Let's get married."

*

Defeated by Poseidon, Dionysus receives an invitation to his wedding with Beroe.

The invitation fills Dionysus with humiliation.

On impulse, he chooses to woo Aura, the mortal woman by his side who is in love with him.

-

After their wedding, Aura travels from country to country with Dionysus.

Everywhere they go, people wonder why Dionysus, god of wine, would marry an ordinary mortal woman.

Even Aura understands.

Eros, god of love, finds Dionysus.

"You married this mortal woman named Aura just to get back at Beroe for being with Poseidon."

"Give it up, Dionysus. I'll lead you to your true love."

So that's it. Now Aura understands.

*

Aura is gone.

An overwhelming terror and pain engulf Dionysus.

This feeling is far worse than losing to Poseidon and losing Beroe.

"What did you say to Aura?!"

Eros looks baffled. "I haven't even met her!"

Dionysus searches everywhere like a madman, but Aura is nowhere to be found.

-

Zeus orders them to go to the island of Naxos and help Theseus, prince of Athens, kill a monster.

But instead of finding the prince, they find a sleeping princess.

"Aura!" Dionysus cries with joy, grabbing the young woman before him.

The woman called Aura turns away from him, her gaze unfamiliar.

"Hello, I'm Ariadne, princess of Crete. May I ask who you are?"

-

"This is your destined one, Dionysus," Eros says, shooting a golden arrow at Ariadne.

[Ariadne shows no reaction.]

"That's strange," Eros mutters, scratching his head as he slinks away. "Why didn't my golden arrow work?"
