[Ultraman] Something's Off About Zero's Little Sister

(I won't abandon this story. I've been very busy lately, so updates will be temporarily slower. They'll resume soon.) Zero suddenly discovers that he has a younger sister named Selfis.

She acts innocent in front of Leo, then turns around and blows up the King of Ultra's training grounds.

She sleeps on top of him in the middle of the night, making his Color Timer beep all night long.

She instantly kills aliens and frames him, then says self-righteously, "Anyone who hurts my brother deserves to disappear."

She pulls all sorts of baffling stunts.

Zero can only keep brainwashing himself.

She's naive. My little sister just loves me too much.

But little by little, he starts to feel that his feelings for Selfis aren't quite right.

One thing she says can keep him happy for ages. One glance from her makes his heart flutter.

He can't stand having anyone else around her.

He wants to be with her forever.

Terrified by his own thoughts, Zero can only brainwash himself again.

She's my sister, just my sister, and can only ever be my sister.

All her actions are just because she loves me, her big brother, too much.

Until she flirts with him one more time, and Zero can't take it anymore.

Zero: "What exactly are you trying to do to me?"

Selfis kisses him. "I like you."

Zero's Color Timer blares. "What kind of like?"

Selfis smiles slyly and puts her arms around him. "What do you think?"

Zero often feels like he deserves to go to hell, especially when the person in his arms calls him her big brother.

Selfis: "Would going to hell mean you wouldn't be with me anymore, Brother?"

Zero: "Don't even think about it."

Selfis hugs him back. "Then what are you afraid of, Brother? Even if it's hell, I'll go with you."

Belial attacks the Land of Light, and Selfis goes missing.

Zero is injured while pursuing him and has no choice but to merge with the Earthling Riku Iga. But that's also how he finds Selfis.

She has become Lumina, Riku's wife's younger sister.

She remembers the Land of Light, remembers that her biological older brother is named Zero, and remembers that he is her only family, but that's all.

Using Riku's body, Zero appears before her. "Selfis, we're more than just siblings."

Selfis is completely flustered. "...Brother, don't say things like that while wearing my brother-in-law's face... It's weird."

Zero transforms and grabs her. "We've been together for ages!"

Riku, who has witnessed everything, is stunned. "...Zero-san, are people in the Land of Light really this open-minded?"

Selfis says sternly, "Stop joking around. We're siblings. How could we possibly be together?"

She hurriedly turns and runs away, her heartbeat thundering in her ears.

Riku tries to comfort him. "Zero-san, it's okay. I know what it's like to get dumped."

Zero: "I'm going after her. Lend me your body."

"My body? What for?"

Zero: "To get married."

Riku swallows his words of comfort. "Zero-san, look me in the eye and say that again! I'm married and I have a daughter!"

Zero: "Oh, I almost forgot about that... Wait! What am I supposed to do, then?!"

Pairing: Zero, one-on-one, happy ending.

The heroine's Ultra form resembles Zero, but I prefer writing human-Ultra relationships, so except when she's in the Land of Light, she's usually in an alien form.

This idea came to me out of nowhere, so I started without a backlog. If you like it, please add it to your favorites. It probably won't be a long story.

Belial nearly smashed the Land of Light after learning that his two friends, Ken and Marie, had gotten together.

Instead, he was gravely injured and fell to Earth in the Showa era, where he was forced to share a body with a chatty young woman who was so poor all she had was a sweet tongue.

Belial: Ken, just you wait!

The girl who shares his body can do nothing but praise people.

"Lord Belial, you're so handsome!"

"Lord Belial, you're so strong!"

"Lord Belial, you even look great with a straight face!"

"Amazing! You can glow! You're brighter than the light bulbs I used to find!"

Belial: ...Is this woman sick or something?

Later, he discovers that her illness is contagious.

Takanashi Mei finds an Ultraman. He's the first good friend she's ever had, even if he isn't very nice.

She works hard to earn money, helping stray animals and orphans.

She does her best to live and smiles at everyone, never hesitating to compliment them, yet people still dislike her and she can't make a single friend.

All because she's got the worst luck imaginable.

Even if she spots a five-yen coin on the road, she'll trip into a ditch the very next second.

She's incredibly unlucky, and she brings bad luck to others, too. Nobody likes her.

Takanashi Mei: "Just smile and it'll be okay. I'm not a yen coin, so not everyone has to like me."

Belial: "Making everyone hate you is a talent in itself."

Takanashi Mei: "Wow, Lord Belial, you're complimenting me! You make it sound like I'm so talented."

Belial: "? I knew there was something wrong with this woman!"

Belial treats Takanashi Mei like a power bank. He discovers that when Mei uses his power, he recovers faster.

Once he realizes this, he points at Taro, the "son of an old acquaintance," who's fighting a monster. "See him? I'm stronger than he is. If you listen to me, you can do that too."

Takanashi Mei's eyes light up. "Really?"

Belial starts teaching Mei how to use his powers. On the surface, he's saving Earth, but really, he wants to make things difficult for Taro.

Whenever he looks at Taro and remembers that he's Ken and Marie's son, it irritates him. The more irritated he gets, the more he resents his human host, who has nothing going for her.

Belial complains, "You've got nothing going for you. Your figure's flat, too. What about you looks like a woman?"

Takanashi Mei soothes him. "It's okay, Lord Belial. You'll have kids of your own someday!"

Belial: "Is that the point?"

Takanashi Mei: "If not, what is?"

But at some point, he starts to care about her smile, her warmth, and the way her face turns pale every time she uses her powers.

Then one night, he suddenly realizes that he wants to kiss this unlucky, useless, flat-chested girl with the incredibly sweet smile.

Belial: "I must be going crazy..."

And then he really does go crazy.

Takanashi Mei exhausts herself in front of him, and her body dissolves into starlight.

Belial: …

Belial never knew it could be so difficult to make a woman understand that he likes her.

If that woman is Mei, then it makes perfect sense.

Every time he tries to express his feelings, she says, "I know, Lord Belial is my very best friend!"

He makes a finger heart at Mei, and she gives him a thumbs-up. They never understand each other, so there's always more left unsaid.

He's gotten countless "Takanashi Mei's Best Friend" cards, so many they've almost covered the entire floor of the Land of Light. Now the word "friend" makes Belial flinch.

The hell with being your best friend! I want to be your man!
