Carmilla dreamed that Dark Trigger sealed her away for thirty million years and eventually killed her, so she decided to run away right then and there.
He was going to kill me. Would I be an idiot not to run?
You say I love him? Sure, but I love myself more!
As soon as she landed, she found a boy named Manaka Kengo.
The little boy kept clinging to her. Since she needed an identity to blend into human society anyway, she figured she might as well put him to use.
And so, after arriving on Earth, she successfully adopted the boy.
She changed her name to Kusama Saori and told everyone they were siblings with the same mother but different fathers.
But there was something strange about Manaka Kengo.
A string of countdown numbers hovered over his head, and each day, the number dropped by one.
Kusama Saori thought it was a countdown to his death. So whenever Kengo got into trouble, all she had to do was think about how he was going to die, and her heart would soften.
“Forget it, forget it. You're going to die soon anyway. Why should I care? What's the point?”
*
Kusama Saori is in charge of training elite cadets and forming the Elite Victory Team at a school established by the TPU. Manaka Kengo is one of the cadets.
A fellow cadet: “Kengo, your instructor is your older sister? She's gorgeous!”
Manaka Kengo gave him a cold glance. “No.”
“Then your cousin? I remember your file said you two were siblings.”
“Neither.”
The cadet: “Huh? Then what are you to each other?”
“She is my...” Manaka Kengo trailed off, turning to stare at Kusama Saori's retreating figure, lost in thought.
Then, on a dark and stormy night, he climbed into his sister's bed.
If there are things Carmilla regrets in this life,
number one is falling for Dark Trigger, and number two is sleeping with Manaka Kengo, the human boy she raised herself.
Another night, Manaka Kengo climbed into her bed again, and Kusama Saori got angry.
“Could you at least show some respect for me, your older sister and adoptive mother?”
Manaka Kengo buried his face against her chest, sounding jealous. “Didn't you say I was going to die soon, Saori? Once I'm dead, you'll be free. You can go find your ex-boyfriend or other men. But for now, shouldn't you satisfy me first?”
Kusama Saori, held in his arms: ...
Never mind, he's going to die soon anyway. No point arguing with someone who's about to die. Once he's dead, she can play around with as many men as she wants.

As the numbers over Manaka Kengo's head dwindled day by day, her feelings for him grew more complicated and her anxiety kept mounting, until she was practically giving in to everything he wanted.
One day, by accident, Manaka Kengo transformed into Dark Trigger right in front of her.
Kusama Saori: ...?
Wait? Hold on? No, what? It's you again?!
Manaka Kengo: “Ah... sorry, I let the secret slip.”
-
Manaka Kengo hadn't died. He had turned out to be her ex-boyfriend, Dark Trigger.
Kusama Saori was completely flustered, gritting her teeth in fury. “Was it fun, lying to me like this?”
Manaka Kengo looked innocent, but his voice was unnervingly obsessive. “You were the one who abandoned me and ran away first. So this time, just in case, you won't be able to run away again, unless... you kill me.”
Kusama Saori: “What does that mean? Get lost... Don't come any closer!”
Couple: Trigger x Carmilla. In this story, Trigger is Dark Trigger, who came from thirty million years ago with Carmilla. He never turned to the light after being persuaded by Yuzare, so he's a little darker in character.
One-on-one romance, happy ending, faithful in body and soul. Compared to my previous two books, this one isn't quite so “pure love.” I hope Jinjiang doesn't lock it.
I'll keep using the same name for Carmilla's human form as before. I'm used to it. The name has no special meaning and has no connection to any of the author's names or anything like that. I just put together a Japanese surname I found online.
Probably starting in 2027, or once pre-orders reach 400 or more.
