A Nobody Catches the Eye of the Noble Comic's Male Second Lead

(In progress) On the first day Wen Mian transmigrated into a classic school romance manga set in Japan, the System issued a warning:

[You are "the background girl in the second-to-last seat by the window in Class 2-A." Keep your presence below 5%.]

So she strictly followed the rules for background characters:

Always be in the background, munching on bread.

Automatically stand in the back row during group activities.

Never interfere with the main plot.

Don't interact with the main characters.

Until the school festival.

Hanyu Cheng, the young aristocrat all the girls at school had a crush on, suddenly stopped in front of her. "There's... frosting on the corner of your mouth."

As the boy's slender fingers gently brushed her lips, the System in Wen Mian's mind suddenly erupted:

[Warning! Abnormal interaction with a main character!]

Wen Mian was stunned. How had he even noticed a background character like her?

*

As the editor of this manga in the real world, Wen Mian knew its story far too well.

Because it was the first manga she had ever handled for publication.

Hanyu Cheng was the gentle piano prodigy and second male lead in the original story.

He was supposed to give the heroine a solo performance in the concert hall.

He was supposed to hold an umbrella over the crying heroine on a rainy day.

He was supposed to come to the heroine's rescue at the school dance.

He wasn't supposed to bring a different kind of bread every day and carefully feed it to a background character!

As the original plot began to fall apart:

The iconic solo performance became him suddenly inviting her, tucked away in a corner, to choose a song.

At the heroine's birthday party, he stayed with her in the library to study.

-

"Why do you always draw yourself at the edge of your sketchbook?" He caught the sketchbook she tried to hide. It was filled with profiles of him playing the piano.

"Because I'm a background character!"

"Then from now on," the boy led her to the piano, "you're my one and only heroine."
