[A Silly, Sweet Story, Also Known as Love Simulator]
Min Zezhi works for a company that makes "toys" for the modern age. Before the launch of a new simulator, he is one of the latest batch of test observers.
He has to enter the simulator, observe the characters' data, and compile a scientific report.
That's what his boss tells him.
Then Min Zezhi enters the simulator.
In the first simulation, he's a dull husband. When he invites a friend over for dinner, his wife and the friend hit it off, get him drunk, leave him aside, and start playing adult games in the living room.
His job is to record their situation and compile data for an "emotional" analysis.
In the second simulation, he's a passenger on a bus. As he's riding home, the people in the back start playing a multiplayer game.
His job is to observe their condition and write down data on the simulated split-person, meaning the data from the perspective of the one doing the splitting.
In the third simulation, he's no longer human. He's a clump of dirt in a flowerpot on a balcony.
His job is to observe the impostor in the room, as well as the other person's data, and compile an analysis of their compatibility.
At first, he tackles the job with enthusiasm. By the end, he's utterly despairing. Min Zezhi discovers that he can't get it up anymore.
That day, after getting examined, he rushes to his boss's office, slaps down his medical report and a resignation letter, and demands N+3 compensation.
But his penny-pinching boss, Zuo Guyan, dodges the issue and refuses to pay a cent. He even plans to personally help treat him.
Looking at that stingy man, Min Zezhi grits his teeth in hatred. Out of spite, he happily accepts.
And so, he becomes the simulator's first user.
The scenarios he once observed and experimented on are recreated one by one with him in the starring role.
Min Zezhi discovers that his problem has been cured.
What's more, the penny-pinching boss gets his assets notarized, and Min Zezhi goes from workplace newbie to billionaire.
Min Zezhi: This deal was worth it. Now I'm the one calling the shots!
Content warnings:
1. The romance between the leads develops fairly late. No secret pining: they fall for each other while the treatment is underway.
2. The working man's life is never easy.
