COSPLAY, anime conventions, transmigration
John transmigrated while cosplaying Homelander, and became a young Homelander still in the Vought laboratory.
Luckily, John wasn't completely out of luck.
Before he had to experience Homelander's utterly awful childhood firsthand, a superhuman in a red-and-blue bodysuit with an "S" on his chest smashed through the lab's outer wall and dropped in from the sky.
From then on, John had two fathers and a huge number of brothers and sisters.
But can someone tell him what Superman is? And what the Justice League is?
Wasn't he supposed to be in the world of The Boys?!
2.
This world was just too weird.
After he'd started his new life, John wondered:
Why didn't the superheroes in this world have to worry about public approval or whether they looked perfect on camera? Why weren't they scumbags who acted all shiny and heroic on the surface, but abused their superpowers to do whatever they wanted behind the scenes?!
The Boys wasn't like that!
Superheroes were supposed to pretend to be good people while secretly doing whatever they wanted, then lose their powers and get beaten to death with a crowbar by an ordinary person seeking revenge!
And why could ordinary people without superpowers become superheroes, too?!
Yes, John was talking about his new dad's partner and significant other.
If Superman was stronger than anyone else, then obviously he should be with another powerful superhuman, become a god, and be worshipped by everyone!
Still, John eventually decided to become a superhero himself, just not one like Homelander.
He'd been influenced by Homelander too deeply, and needed an anchor completely opposite to him so he wouldn't be assimilated for good.
As for Batman and the others, they could just accept his protection.
Then John ran into the first setback of his superhero career.
At his first meeting with the Bat Family, he got beaten up by the mere mortal he'd looked down on.
Huh?? Was that right?!
John's worldview crumbled for the first time, though it certainly wouldn't be the last:
Wasn't he an all-powerful Kryptonian in this world? Wasn't he destined from birth to become a god?!
How could Robin, who wasn't much older than him, defeat him so easily?
And what were kryptonite daggers, kryptonite katanas, and kryptonite bullets supposed to be?!
Content warnings:
1.
The protagonist really is the actual Homelander, on his second run through life. For certain reasons, he thinks he's a cosplayer.
The goal is to give Homelander lots and lots of love and turn him into a true hero!
So this is actually a story about Superman's kid and Batman's kid, because obviously Superman and Batman together would teach someone to become a true hero!
2.
The main pairing isn't decided yet, but it leans toward Homelander with everyone, with the Deep being the most likely option.
Side pairings include Superman/Batman, Connor/Tim, Jason/Michelle, Dick/Barbara, and Endgame/Nightwing or Owlman/Endgame, with no preference between the last two.
Superman/Lois, Superman/Lana, Batman/Talia, Two-Face/Batman, and Tim/Steph are mentioned as past relationships. This is extremely, extremely, extremely polyamorous and messy.
Yes, just like Superman and Batman, Homelander will have loved many people and seen a lot of the world before finding the person who's right for him. There will be different one-on-one relationships at different stages, and all of Homelander's partners will be men.
This story isn't suitable for readers who need content warnings for romantic relationships.
3.
The Boys setting has been heavily altered, and the story is a DC-focused Marvel/DC crossover.
One of John's genetic parents is Superman, and the other is Soldier Boy, so his abilities have also been adjusted based on Kryptonian powers.
4.
The Superman/Batman side mixes elements from the comics, animation, movies, and TV shows. Jonathan is twelve from the start, and Damian is fifteen.
