Am I a Cat?

One day, Luo Min wakes up as a cat.

The cat hides in the steel jungle, locking itself away in an empty room.

One day, someone discovers his secret.

Luo Min wonders, when did he become a cat?

Was it when his mother missed the older brother he'd never met, yet turned a blind eye to him?

Was it the day he opened the door to their home and smelled a strong stench of blood, only to find a woman lying in a pool of it?

Was it when he was curled up in pain and unable to move on a street corner, and Pei Jingsheng avoided him with utter disdain?

Perhaps he had been a cat from the very beginning, a monster that everyone despised. After all, he'd never met his biological father.

Luo Min never trims his claws. They're his weapons, but they cut him, too.

People say cats have strange temperaments. Luo Min thinks humans are the real freaks.

His mother, mired in despair and unwilling to save herself; his father, who shows up twenty years too late; and Pei Jingsheng, who presses a hand against Luo Min's palm despite the wound exposed on the side of his face, asking if it still hurts.
