Mountain God’s Forest Farm

In 2035, there are no new myths or legends left in the world.

Ying Kongtu still exists as a mountain god, and the temple at the foot of his mountain still stands, though no one brings it offerings anymore. It has become a historical relic in this little town.

One day, Ying Kongtu came home from work and saw a tall man holding a little orange cat in front of the mountain-god temple, pressing its paw against the wall.

“Come on, let's leave a paw print and register you at the temple. Ask the mountain god to protect you,” the man said.

According to legend, when cats and dogs leave a paw print in front of the mountain-god temple, they're officially registered.

If they get lost, the mountain god has to help them find their way home.

Ying Kongtu dug this memory out from the back of his mind, his feelings in turmoil.

He never thought anyone would still bring cats to worship the gods.

Ying Kongtu watched the man and cat leave, feeling a rush of affection for them.

After that, he sent Wen Chongshan a cat eight times in one month.

Wen Chongshan had been asked to look after Ying Kongtu.

Despite the rumors that Ying Kongtu didn't trust humans, he was actually very easy to get along with.

Wen Chongshan kept him company as he gathered things, planted crops, cooked, and raised fluffy animals. Their quiet life was wonderfully laid-back.

Until one day, he looked down at Ying Kongtu petting a cat, and his fingers moved without him realizing it.

He wanted to pet something, too.

Only, not the cat.

That evening, he messaged his friend to say they could forget the favor he'd asked for earlier.

Friend: Why? You two were getting along so well. Did you have a fight?

Wen Chongshan was silent for a long time, then gave no answer.

They hadn't fought. He'd simply fallen for Ying Kongtu.

Coming soon: The Silver Dragon's Shanhai Farm

As a white dragon, Cen Jiyun accidentally crossed over into a world of magic.

When he woke up in a forest, he encountered a huge, majestic, and handsome creature.

It turned out the other creature was a dragon too, a local one.

The local dragon studied Cen Jiyun, whose presence was almost divine, with golden slit pupils and an equally wary expression.

Cen Jiyun had no intention of fighting.

He found a place to settle in the forest, growing vegetables, raising livestock, and catching fish.

From then on, enticing aromas wafted from his little wooden house every day.

The local dragon remained unmoved.

But its fluffy dragon companions crowded together and crept toward Cen Jiyun's cabin.

After Cen Jiyun treated them to cakes made with milk and dragon horns, they switched their allegiance to him.

Raw marinated shrimp, flame-seared fish, salt-roasted crab, ice cream made from fruit...

The fluffy creatures went further and further down the path of trading labor for food, until even their owner couldn't sit still.

The local dragon paid him a late-night visit, its voice low as it asked if he wanted to trade for food:

-There's a kind of fish with thick bones and tender meat. Once cooked, its broth is fresh and delicious, and the marrow is unbelievably rich and fragrant;

-A mountain fruit from the volcano, mashed with lemon peel, makes a fresh, tangy, spicy sauce that goes with all kinds of meat;

-And there's tata fish milk, with a richness and creaminess completely unlike cow's milk. I can fly you offshore to milk them;

Cen Jiyun thought it over for a moment. “Deal!”

And so Cen Jiyun gained the finest guide, the most reliable partner, and the most unlikely lover.
