Work in progress
An aloof older brother who looks down from on high, parents who see only power, and a chaotic, dismal family: that's what the word "home" means to Mu Tang.
In such an emotionally barren household, the feeling called "cold-bloodedness" sinks deep into his bones.
A born actor can hide his true nature perfectly. No one knows that a poisonous flower is growing beneath that obedient facade.
On that pitch-black night, he raised a sharp blade and stabbed his detested older brother to death.
He let bright red blood stain his clothes, and let the rain wash away his "sins."
Pale lights shone down on the boy's frail body. During Mu Tang's interrogation, he answered two people at once, though one of them wasn't human. It was a System.
.
It asked Mu Tang what he wished for, saying anything could be granted once he completed his missions.
He propped his chin on his hand as if pondering the question. After a long moment, he smiled and drawled, "A wish? Would it count if I said I want to destroy the world?"
"I'm kidding." If not for the feverish light in the boy's eyes, it would really have believed him.
The unfamiliar world meant little to Mu Tang. All he had to do was play his part.
.
Mu Tang loves and relishes other people's fear. The nightmares he weaves send them tumbling into the abyss.
The sharp spearpoint is only a hair's breadth from his throat. The golden eyes of his beloved no longer hold the feelings they once did.
He slowly raises his hand and grips the spearhead tightly. His dark red eyes still hold a smile. "Come on, Morax. Kill me."
The boy knows the other person hates him, and he also knows they can't bring themselves to strike.
"I don't like it when you don't take the initiative."
Using all his strength, he drives the spear into himself. Blood trickles down, staining the red wedding robes and sinking into Morax's heart.
Watching the panic flash through the other's eyes, Mu Tang's smile deepens. "Good night, Morax."
We won't meet again.
.
The dragon soaring through the sky is struck down and falls. With shackles on his wrists, Mu Tang is shoved forward by Cloud Knights.
The Xianzhou's Prison of Deep Seclusion has never seen much light. Strands of hair he hasn't combed in days fall over his shoulders. Mu Tang raises his head and looks at the Luofu general standing before him, hands behind his back and a distant expression on his face.
Not long ago, they were beloved partners who could trust each other. Now one is a criminal and the other an executioner.
"Don't look at me like that, General. It makes me sad."
Seeing that Jing Yuan doesn't respond, Mu Tang doesn't get angry. He just keeps humming cheerfully.
"Mu Tang, criminal of the Xianzhou. Do you have anything to say in your defense?"
Suppressing his feelings, Jing Yuan speaks slowly. As a general, he must separate his feelings from his duty.
"I do. I hope you'll be the one to end my life of sin, Jing Yuan."
The once carefree bird, too, was extinguished in the midst of a grand destruction.
Five people bear the name. Four must pay the price. One has already died.
...The rest to be decided.
A short reader's guide:
1. Although there is a System, it doesn't appear often. There are many original settings. I'm not an expert on the source material; my research comes from the experts on MiHoYo's forums. (Bows.)
2. Strong OOC warning. This jumps back and forth between Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact, and there will be a major love-triangle showdown later.
3. The protagonist seems like a harmless little white flower on the surface, but is actually a villain. He follows his own beliefs and pushes emotions aside.
Theme: A flower in the mire is saved by the light
It is recommended to add a few more chapters (Missing Persons' crazy sign)
Updates every half a year, you are good too
