[Honkai: Star Rail] How Could the Company's Heir Be a Gambler?

“I like to maximize my own gains, even if it takes a lot to get there. You’re right, but I’m not afraid of failure. For a gambler, there’s only one word that matters: success.”

Someone once asked the famous genius businessman, the grandson of the founder of the Interastral Peace Corporation: “You always push things to the limit to get what you want. Aren’t you afraid that one day it’ll all go wrong and you’ll lose everything?”

That was how Lu Wenzhi Fleming answered him. He wasn’t worried about losing everything, because the power behind him gave him enough capital to wager it all.

Besides, he’d inherited his grandfather’s extraordinary talent, and even surpassed it.

①

Not many people in the universe had ever seen Louis Fleming. He was more like a figure out of legend, so when Lu Wenzhi first appeared, many suspected he was a fraud.

“Don’t trust me? That’s fine. I don’t need you to. I’m a businessman, a gambler. What I like is those shiny Credits. As for what you think of me, I don’t consider it important.”

Lu Wenzhi paid no attention to any of it. Gossip couldn’t stop him from making money, not even after he’d firmly established his identity.

②

The same logic, the same way of thinking, and most importantly, the same greedy spirit.

For the first time, Lu Wenzhi discovered something besides making money that could reach straight into his heart: a gambler who was similar to him, but not quite the same. Interesting, he thought.

“If I put a coin in front of you, do you think it’ll land heads or tails?”

Well, how should he put it? For the first time, Lu Wenzhi felt like he was some kind of lunatic, neglecting his own affairs just to spend every day observing the life of this man named Aventurine.

When Aventurine questioned him, Lu Wenzhi spread his hands. “Just making the rounds as a supervisor.”

“Oh? That’s the first I’ve heard of a supervisor making the rounds at someone else’s private residence. Mr. Lu, you wouldn’t want anyone to find out about this, would you?”

He’d been played, but that was fine. Lu Wenzhi liked unexpected turns, especially the feeling of being in someone else’s hands. It was intoxicating.

A little reading guide:

1. The heir is rich and powerful, but unfortunately doesn’t have what it takes to top. The protagonist has lived for hundreds of Amber Eras, but is immature at heart because he enjoys making mischief.

2. The CP is Aventurine. Two gamblers racing toward a wager together (x). OOC warning, lots of headcanons.

3. The early chapters may tell stories from a long time ago first, with Aventurine appearing a little later. A sweet story with no angst. He came to save him.

Theme: Saving someone else is a deed worth more than building a seven-story pagoda.
