[Writing is hard, so please support the official release] [Upcoming stories are listed here] → Sequel: Guide fiction set in a liquor distillery → Original: A love triangle with three sides [Blurb] Shenshan Qingyu has a System that collects malice. He thought completing his mission would be a breeze, since the System had dropped him into a world of deductive science, where an incident happens every ten steps and one of every three people is a killer. Without knowing the full story, Shenshan Qingyu spends every day hanging around the deductive-science set. He gradually becomes a familiar face to the police officers, earning himself the title of Beika's newest Grim Reaper in Inspector Megure's eyes. Just as everyone assumes Shenshan Qingyu is simply cursed with terrible luck, a text suddenly appears on his phone. [Keep watching him., Gin] A little skit: Little Detective: Why is Qingyu always so unlucky? He never even does anything, but he keeps getting caught up in all kinds of incidents! Shenshan Qingyu: If someone is always cleared of suspicion, will anyone suspect him when he really does want to do something? Romantic pairings: Before joining the Organization: Older police academy senior x pure, flirtatious college guy Shenshan Qingyu: Senpai, I like you so much today, too. After joining the Organization: Chaotic-neutral Brandy x ruthless Scotch Brandy: So all you can manage is putting on an apron, Scotch? From the distillery's perspective Brandy is another of Rum's trusted operatives. Unlike Bourbon, who likes taking the initiative, Brandy is cautious to the bone. Even within the Organization, few have seen his real face. Rumor has it he learned everything from Vermouth and can fit in anywhere, though no one knows that while he officially belongs to the intelligence division, he's secretly joined the operations division. The whiskeys who've worked with him and been put through the wringer: ...He just builds all his happiness on other people's misery. Shenshan Qingyu: What did I do? I'm just a lowly wage earner. Reader's Notes: 1. A watered-down real deal. He lives up to his name by slacking off. His signature work is Big Bro, the Organization's Going Under. What Do We Do? 2. Everyday harassment of the distillery, and an enthusiastic instigator of infighting within the Organization. 3. CP is Hiro. The police academy group survives in this alternate timeline. 4. No secondary CPs. There will be a little romance for canon couples like ShinRan and HeijiKazuha. ---Upcoming stories below. Feel free to skip if you're not interested------- PAGE 1: The distillery express has arrived Ji He, currently using the name Hei Jihehong, is a registered Grade B guide in the Federation, in the year 4869. He accidentally enters a wormhole while making an interstellar jump. When he wakes up, his head is resting on a bronze singing bowl, and everything around him is pitch-black. Realizing that he's been shrunk down completely, Ji He lightly taps the bowl and feels as if he's let go of all worldly concerns. Fine, he's transmigrated, but the job still suits him. Divine healer, here I come! Hei Jihehong discovers that this world has no established Sentinel-Guide system. The people on the street are all undeveloped Sentinels, who are extremely prone to rampaging and killing without a Guide to lead them. And the place where he works seems to be an underground organization for Dark Sentinels, with irritable spirit animals running around him every day. The undercover agents who flock to the United Nations Undercover Training Center, also known as the distillery, are told after receiving their codenames that the Organization offers excellent benefits. In addition to a regular medical department, the base even has a therapist. The name tag on Doctor Hei Ji's chest says “Healer,” and he always carries a strange bronze basin with him. A black panther with curly black fur and green eyes, a snow-white and ferocious cleanliness-obsessed polar bear, a sweet-faced but combative cougar, as well as a butterfly-patterned venomous spider, an orchid mantis... Under his guidance, the mental state of these diverse spirit animals improves, and they appear less and less often. The only exception is an especially large, fierce silver wolf that comes by every few days to ask for pets, while its owner never shows up. One day, Hei Jihehong finally gives in. Stroking the wolf's fluffy ruff, he asks, “Can't you bring your owner here, too? And can't your owner take a break? Working nonstop is exhausting.” Gin, the distillery's top killer, once thought therapy was the stupidest thing in the world. It was no different from exposing your wounds to someone else, until he met the doctor at the Organization's base. Hei Jihehong: “Hi, you finally made it?” Gin: “How far do you plan to take this?” Hei Jihehong: “Farther than you can imagine.” Reader's Notes: 1. The protagonist is a support staff member at the distillery with no codename. His everyday identity is a therapist. 2. The main plot is about seizing power and usurping the throne. 3. CP: Gin PAGE 2: Here comes the express train to a danmei love-triangle showdown Sheng Qi is a low-ranking employee at the Structure Management Bureau. Bound to a Pairing System, he's in charge of playing the “CP” scenes for important supporting characters in books. The story follows a hard-luck protagonist shou enduring countless hardships, a protagonist gong agonizing over his wavering loyalties, and a fake young master who turns dark after being betrayed. The whole book revolves around their tangled lives, with plenty of physical and emotional angst. Sheng Qi only has to play three minor background characters to fulfill the author's need to pair up the important supporting cast: a marriage-first, love-later story featuring a wealthy CEO and a trophy husband in an arranged marriage; career elites, a therapist and a family doctor; and campus youth, a handsome heartthrob and a senior in a shared dorm. Although he has the same face in all three roles, he moves along the edges of the wealthy-family love triangle under three different identities. Sheng Qi firmly believes that if he shows up rarely enough, no one will see through him. But Sheng Qi gradually discovers that supporting characters may not need a CP after all. The doctor wants to study abroad, and the heartthrob wants to make his debut as the center. But the CEO wants to go on a marriage reality show? Sheng Qi: Great, we all have a bright future. Shang Sheng was perfectly happy with his respectful, companionate arranged marriage. Then one day, he discovers that his spouse has not only found a part-time job as a family doctor, but is also trying to go back to school and move out. And his younger brother knew that his sister-in-law was sharing a dorm with him, but never told him! Shang Sheng: “You're not getting any pocket money next month. No, this year!” Younger brother: ??? Sheng Qi: What's with him? Pretending to be in love for real costs extra. CP: A lazy, fun-loving shou with no feelings and nothing but tricks x a flirtatious, scheming, green-tea CEO gong who seems reserved on the surface Theme: Choose the right direction in life
