[Western Crossover] This Can't Possibly Be Just Fanfiction

One day, while working hard on deadline at the Daily Planet and enjoying a rare stretch of peace without any unexpected trouble, Clark aka Superman Kent suddenly noticed an interface on his computer that only he could see.

The contents seemed to be records about Batman, his partner under his Superman identity.

Though his super-brain was quickly analyzing whether this was a trap, Clark couldn't stop himself from clicking on the records.

Come on, it was about Batman. Could anyone really resist reading it?

"Gotham's Important Figures: Observation Log"

"He matters to Gotham..."

"To me."

(Wait) (I'll make this up when I get inspired)

At first, Clark suspected it was the sort of fanfiction that might appear on a Gotham forum. But some details were too accurate, and he had to admit that it might all be true.

The contents of the articles he unlocked later made him think it was a parallel world, but he never wavered in his belief that it was real. In short, this absolutely couldn't be just fanfiction.

So, by the same logic, some of the information could apply to his world, too.

Clark was firmly convinced of it.

So, for a while afterward, while on duty in the Watchtower, Batman noticed Superman sneaking glances at him now and then, wearing a very strange expression.

Batman: ?

To find out what had happened to Superman, Bruce made time to visit the Daily Planet in Metropolis, which he'd bought after learning Superman's civilian identity. There, he received an equally strange look from Clark.

Bruce: (alert.jpg) Had this alien rescue dog figured out his Batman identity?

To find out what Superman was up to now, Batman spent some time getting close to Clark in his Bruce identity, investigating his strange behavior.

Then Clark's inexplicable misunderstanding knocked the wind out of him.

What on earth was going through this Kryptonian's head?

When Clark realized Bruce was approaching him, and that he was gradually developing feelings for him, he was both terrified and on the verge of a quiet breakdown.

He couldn't imagine how terrifyingly dark his partner's already stern, intimidating face would become if he found out.

He absolutely did not mean to fall for B's boyfriend, aaaaaah!

1. The fanfiction Clark starts reading is Bruce/Batman (or will there be other pairings later?).

2. Bruce knows Clark is Superman, but Superman and the rest of the Justice League don't know Batman's real identity.

3. Identity reveals all mixed together. The final pairing is Batman/Superman, but it can also be read as no fixed top or bottom.

4. It should be a short story, just a little indulgence in the secret-identity trope and Batman/Superman/Batman.

Theme: Have your own judgment and never blindly trust information from unknown sources.
