I Have a Death Note

[Main setting: Jujutsu Kaisen. Whether other series will be included depends on inspiration. The main text is in third person.]

First of all, I'm a good person. I respect other people's lives and never kill anyone.

Secondly, I'm a writer. I can probably only write clichéd, second-rate stories, and can't even call myself an author.

Lastly, I'm being haunted by a Death Note.

Every so often, I have to write the name of some unlucky person in it. Maybe I can even come up with a way for them to die.

But I respect other people's lives.

Still, it's no big deal. I often reach a point where I've had enough of living, so I'm happy to write my own name in it and add a death I'd find interesting.

Good news: It actually works.

Bad news: After making that choice many times, I woke up again in complete darkness, holding the Death Note filled with page after page, and finally came to my senses.

Then I realized I'd been dragged into my own death.

When I was in a dull, hazy state with no desire to live, I made up different personas for myself to have some fun: different faces, different life paths, and different deaths. Now it seems I'm about to suffer the consequences.

I glanced at the sharp dagger pressed against my neck and the frenzied bandit in front of me, and calmly thought to myself.

[He will die full of rage and resentment, after trying to save the person he obsessively loves. When he's just one step away from saving them, he'll have to watch in bitter fury as someone else touches and rescues the one he loves.

No one will know he died. No one will care that he died.]

I clearly remembered what I'd written. It was a clichéd plotline with a touch of irony.

And now, it seemed I was the "beloved" waiting to be rescued.

What happens next?

As I watched Fushiguro Megumi burst through the window, I calmly recalled what came next.

Wasn't it something about exploring the existence of ghosts, with the angry dead becoming evil spirits and haunting the person they loved?

But this world really does have things like that.

I watched the viscous darkness slowly spreading nearby and felt that things were getting a little more interesting.

Next came a few other important questions: What other plotlines had I written? What kinds of deaths had I designed for "me," and how would I get dragged into them?
