Livestreaming History in a Wasteland World

[An early idea. I'll revise it later.]

In a world turned into a wasteland, the Great Cataclysm destroyed almost everything humanity had.

Thousands of years of history, the technology humanity took pride in, its glorious culture and spirit...

All of it vanished during the century-long rupture.

Humanity lost its past.

The people who rebuilt tribes upon the wasteland could only struggle to survive with primitive means, living in confusion, unsure which way to go.

Chaos, division, conflict, savagery...

Having lost its past, humanity also lost its future.

Then, high in the vast sky, a black screen suddenly appeared.

Ancient myths of defiance against heaven and earth, and the fragile people on the ground, tenaciously struggling to survive...

Humanity fighting nature alone, emperors ruling from their palaces and leading their nations against foreign enemies, soldiers fighting to the death rather than surrendering as they defended their homeland, humble commoners who never forgot their country's plight, and poets singing of grandeur, war, and the world...

A magnificent and sweeping historical panorama unfolded across the wasteland, recounting humanity's history and pointing the lost people of the present toward a way forward.

The people of the wasteland eagerly sought the past they had lost, drawing on the spiritual legacy humanity had passed down through thousands of years.

History, technology, institutions, ideals, poetry, spirit, aspirations...

They would rebuild human civilization, letting its indomitable spirit bring them a future on the wasteland.

The dawn would shine upon humanity once more.
