After being brought back to life by the "Superhero System," Bruce Wayne, who died at the age of eight, spent ten years graduating from a superhero training camp.
At last, he was able to return to Earth-3.
The first thing Bruce did after returning, of course, was go find his big brother.
Even though he couldn't remember how he'd died, his brother would surely know. And his brother loved him most.
Their family could live happily together just like before.
But after Bruce went to considerable trouble to reach his brother and convince him that he really had come back to life, he discovered that his kind-hearted, handsome big brother was now not only a villain, but Gotham's de facto ruler and an adviser to the Crime Syndicate...
His brother had even adopted a boy as his little brother!
All right, his brother didn't love him anymore.
--That was the conclusion Bruce eventually reached.
Bruce, who considered himself quite mature by now, held back his tears and accepted reality.
He left home with ruthless resolve:
He was going to other worlds to find someone who would love him forever, just like his big brother had when they were little, and who would always love him most!
Luckily, Bruce found his soulmate in the very first world he visited after running away.
A Superman who was a gang boss, and the counterpart of his big brother's lover.
Bruce's brother:
Wait, when did I stop loving you? Don't run away!
And why are you looking for a partner as soon as you come of age?!
2.
The world is awful, Bruce said.
His confession had been rejected. Unbelievable!
Though the reason Gangster Superman gave for turning him down was that Bruce wasn't of age, and that they'd talk again once he was.
But how could that be? He was already eighteen, of course he was an adult. That excuse made no sense!
From what Bruce could tell, the real reason he'd been rejected was that Gangster Superman liked his counterpart from the main universe.
To figure out what made him inferior to his counterpart, Bruce went to the main universe.
He observed him, got close to him, and eventually came to a conclusion--
All right, this counterpart really was a little better than him.
But he wasn't bad, either.
He was just too young. Once he reached the age of the main-universe Batman, he'd be just as impressive.
Still, Bruce wasn't as forgiving toward Gangster Superman as he was toward his big brother. He left him a mocking note:
"Too bad, but the person you love is already with his Superman, who's even better than you. I hope your attempts to steal him away never work."
Then Bruce left both of those worlds again.
He was going to the next world to clear his head and keep looking for true love.
Gangster Superman, who thought he'd been dumped, saw the note:
Wait, weren't you the one who dumped me? I didn't reject you!
Can't we get engaged first??
Come back!!
Bruce's brother, who received no note and was treated with Bruce's forgiving kindness, realized Bruce had left Earth-3:
I don't need that kind of forgiveness. Come back!
Warnings:
1.
The pairing is Gangster Superman/Earth-3 Bruce.
2.
Side pairings include Owlman and Joker, unlabelled, plus Superman/Batman in some parallel worlds.
Superman/Lois and Batman/Talia are mentioned in some parallel worlds.
Not every Superman and Batman from the parallel worlds are together. It depends on the plot.
3.
Because of the System, the teachers chosen by the System, and some Earth-3-specific traits, this Batman has a different personality from the main-universe Batman.
For example, he's more materialistic, more pampered, likes traveling, and is chaotic good, among other things.
But as Batman, his traits like justice, kindness, and anger remain unchanged.
And because this is Earth-3, after the inversion, this cat's first profession is a mage, and only then a close-combat fighter.
A "frail" mage Batman, absolutely.
4.
Gangster Superman says Batman isn't of age because Batman is eighteen, while Gangster Superman was adopted by Japanese people, and twenty was the age of adulthood there at the time.
5.
My take on Earth-3, with plenty of personal alterations.
