Shi Die has a secret: she's been in love with her older brother, Pei Shu, since childhood.

He's not her real brother. He's just someone else's kid, sent to live with her family, and he's been there for twenty years.

Shi Die wants him to stay with her for the rest of her life.

After learning that Pei Shu is seeing someone, Shi Die can't sleep all night. She spends the whole night digging up information about her "sister-in-law," but still can't find out who she is.

The next day, Pei Shu comes home, and Shi Die treats him with extreme coldness.

Her parents notice something is wrong. "What's the matter, Xiao Die? Your brother hardly ever comes home. Why are you giving him the cold shoulder?"

Shi Die tosses out, "He's not my brother," then turns and goes back to her room.

She packs her bags, planning to go on a trip with a friend the next day to clear her head. That night, a figure slips into her room with practiced ease and lies down behind her.

Shi Die recognizes his familiar scent, and her heart races.

The air conditioner makes the room cold and dry, but a trembling, heated kiss lands on Shi Die's lips.

She discovers Pei Shu's... secret, too.

To outsiders, Pei Shu is the very picture of grace and purity. But he thinks of himself as dark and despicable, because he has fallen in love with someone he shouldn't.

Shi Die is so adorable. She always calls him "Brother, Brother," following behind him, hugging him, needing him, relying on him.

Yet, day after day, those two words grate on him. He wants to pin her beneath him, force her to change what she calls him, then teach her with his lips and tongue to call him something else.

These thoughts grow stronger as Shi Die gets older, and he has no choice but to distance himself from her for a while. He can only miss her by looking at her photos, then despise himself even more afterward for his vile behavior.

A coworker finds a photo of Shi Die and assumes she's his girlfriend.

Pei Shu doesn't deny it.

Even if he can only hide in a dark corner and claim her as his, that's enough.

After Shi Die gets drunk, Pei Shu comes to pick her up.

She's seen her brother dressed in all sorts of ways, but never in a suit. The black suit makes his already fair, handsome face look even more striking. He looks like an immaculate young gentleman, so tempting that she wants to ruin him.

Before starting the car, Pei Shu takes out his gold-rimmed glasses. The moment he puts them on, the person in the passenger seat suddenly says, "Brother, you look so good in glasses."

Pei Shu's hands shake. He fumbles with the seat belt several times without managing to fasten it.

Shi Die watches him fluster and laughs. She unbuckles her own seat belt and leans over, insisting on breathing her unwanted alcohol breath into his mouth.

Pei Shu gently pushes her away, takes a deep, trembling breath to hold himself back, and asks in a hoarse voice, "Shi Die, do you know what you're doing?"

Shi Die shrugs. "What? It's not like you haven't kissed me before."

*Besides being her brother, he can also be her childhood friend, senior, and husband. One man for every role.

*They are not blood-related, he's only been fostered by her family (his parents dumped him at your house), and they're not on the same household register!! Both are adults! QAQ
