[Crossover] The Master Has a Reversed-Edge Sword

[I may rewrite this if I get the chance. Looking back over the outline, I realized there were many scenes I wanted to write but never did.]

During his training, Yamatonokami Yasusada's time-travel device malfunctioned, leaving him in the present day for over a century.

In that time, he earned the title "the Port Mafia's head-chopping maniac," worked for the Japanese Public Security Bureau, became adept at using firearms, and even mastered basketball and tennis.

But when he finally made it back to the citadel, he found that the world had changed.

The new saniwa was absurdly powerful, with the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu mastered to perfection. Wielding a single reverse-blade sword, he cut down the Time Retrograde Army as if blessed by the gods.

But wait, wasn't that Himura Kenshin, the protagonist of Rurouni Kenshin? Wasn't he a two-dimensional character?

The citadel had landed in the present day. In this world, there were not only aliens and high technology, but also Vice Commander Hijikata, who was crazily devoted to mayonnaise, Commander Kondo, a stalking gorilla, and Captain Okita, an S-and-D prince.

The Shinsengumi sword warriors stared at this world's Shinsengumi, questioning their very existence and nearly falling apart.

Yasusada was even more distraught than they were.

Wasn't this the two-dimensional work called Gintama?

Gintoki patted him on the shoulder. "When something happens, don't panic, kid. Stay calm. Actually, you're a two-dimensional character from Touken Ranbu."

Kagura: "Just accept reality, kid. Your Okita Soji merchandise was actually bought in Bungo Stray Dogs and Detective Conan, aru."

Yasusada: "..."

Gintoki turned to the saniwa. "Oh, oh, oh! You're that anti-foreign patriot Himura Battosai, based on Kawakami Gensai!"

The Shinsengumi: "What? An anti-foreign patriot? Arrest him!"

The Shinsengumi sword warriors: "...No wonder the saniwa's swordsmanship seemed so familiar."

Kenshin, a mere wandering samurai: Sitting in the citadel, handcuffs come flying out of nowhere.

A zany comedy where Date plays matchmaker, Matsuda gets publicly humiliated, Hagiwara attains enlightenment, Hiromitsu makes his debut as an idol, and only Furuya, who has no System, ends up having to perform a three-person comedy routine with Kudo and Akai.

The Chuuya Life Simulator, pairing: DazaiChuuya

A comedy where Dazai tries to torment Chuuya, but the life simulator turns Chuuya into a happy kid, and Dazai ends up tormenting himself in a karmic payback scenario (not really).

The story and timeline differ greatly from the original. I'll explain at the end.

It won't be very long. I'm writing what I want to write, with occasional stream-of-consciousness passages.

My headcanons for Yasusada are extensive. He is neither extreme Yasusada nor ordinary Yasusada.

A lighthearted comedy, but I can't promise there won't be angst along the way.

Yasusada-centric, written for fun. The romance is slight, but please don't switch or break up the pairing, and don't mention unrelated pairings.

The Shinsengumi and the Shinsengumi are not the same group. They are entirely different people, with no counterparts between them.

You don't need to have read Rurouni Kenshin to enjoy this. It only serves as the saniwa's backstory.
