The Beauty Coveted by a Possessive Monster

My husband and I are both university professors. We'd been married for three years, and our marriage had always been happy and harmonious.

That was until we had an argument and my husband stormed off alone on a field expedition. He was missing for three days.

Just as the university and I were about to call the police, my husband came back.

He held me as I sobbed uncontrollably, gently kissed away my tears, and promised that he would never argue with me again.

My husband kept his promise. He became gentler and more considerate than before, but at the same time, he wanted me several times more than he used to.

We were even more inseparable than when we were newlyweds, yet I couldn't shake the feeling that something had changed.

His care for me became so meticulous it was almost absurd. At home, he wouldn't even let me walk by myself very often. Wherever I went, he had to carry me.

He treated me as if I were a fragile, easily shattered porcelain doll, and at the same time his possessiveness was terrifying. He didn't like me going out and would cling to me at home every weekend, keeping me in bed until the world outside disappeared.

Sweat ran through the grooves of his abs. His dark eyes were clouded with desire as he stared at me, looking almost obsessive and crazed. "Could you come home a little earlier after work from now on? Last time, you spent one hour, eight minutes, and forty seconds with that male student after class."

"I don't like the way he looks at you."

I was about to pass out and didn't think too much of it. Men could be a little crazy in bed. Once out of it, he was still the same gentle, refined, and learned biology professor.

I thought things would go on like that forever, until one day I received a text from an unknown number.

"Rongrong, don't trust the man in your house! Run!!!"

Rongrong was my childhood nickname, and the pet name my husband used for me.
