"A Book of Sago"
Yanduo came from the highest-security monster prison in the wasteland.
He was mad, possessed extreme destructive power, and was the sort of being that could frighten children into silence at night.
He died in the final battle against the alliance that had joined forces to besiege the monsters of the wasteland.
When he was reborn on Teyvat, a pack of Rifthounds chased him down. Wounded all over and on the verge of dying from a single blow, he instinctively extended his tentacles, ready to take the dogs down with him, when a pair of hands scooped him up.
Then came a soft chuckle. "I didn't expect this little fellow to survive a pack of Rifthounds for so long. It seems he's fated to cross paths with the Yashiro Commission. Why don't we take him home?"
Yanduo lifted his head at the sound of the voice. The first thing he saw was the man's gentle smile.
The sunlight behind him seemed to fall right into Yanduo's heart.
His restless tentacles gradually calmed down.
Then one tentacle quietly, cautiously, and tentatively settled behind the man.
It was unmistakably possessive.

The head of the Yashiro Commission brought home a little boy and raised him by his side.
The people under him all praised the child. He was hardworking and efficient, and quite clever, too. He caught on to everything at once.
Even the head of the family couldn't help personally teaching him the Kamisato Clan's exclusive sword techniques.
Aside from being a little quiet, he was practically the perfect child.
But when monsters from the Abyss invaded Inazuma, thick tentacles whipped through the air behind the boy.
An aura of death and ill omen filled the entire land.
His blood-red eyes regarded everything like an inanimate object, devoid of all emotion.
A voice as if from the depths of hell rang through Inazuma, calm and cold: "A bunch of watchdogs, and you still dare come out barking?"

Bonus scene:
Kamisato Ayato brought back a little cake from Inazuma City and set it in front of Yanduo.
"This is a new cake from Shimura's. What do you think of the taste?"
The boy's eyes widened as if he couldn't believe his luck. "I-is this really for me?"
"Of course. They said it's the cake children like best." The man's voice was warm.
"Th-thank you..." The boy picked up the little cake and took a tiny bite, then nodded enthusiastically. "Mm! It's really delicious!"
"I'm glad you like it."
Out of Kamisato Ayato's sight, countless tentacles waved wildly behind Yanduo, seeming to want to touch him, yet held back by some unseen force.
They could only keep their distance from his body.
The shadow cast on the wall revealed their owner's greed and madness.
They seemed to be calling, "Mine... mine..."
