Shh, Don't Move

To escape being enslaved by the lord, Mailosi made a difficult escape and accidentally stumbled into the mountains.

He was always firmly convinced, without a trace of doubt, that Duke Anthony was a very good man. The duke had helped him escape his status as a slave and made sure he had food and a roof over his head.

He sent him to a school only nobles could attend, helped him with problems he didn't understand, and stood up for him when he was bullied.

So whenever anyone spoke ill of Anthony in his presence, he would jump up to argue. “That's not true! My lord is the best person in the whole world.”

Everyone around him looked at him with pity. “Look at him. Another person who doesn't know how terrifying the duke is.”

Until...

Someone threw him into a jungle full of beasts. Right in front of him, that person revealed sharp canine teeth, still glistening with streaks of blood.

He slowly removed his white gloves. His long, godlike fingers made short work of the beasts.

He came to stand beside him, showing off the bloodied hands that had just fought the monsters. Moonlight fell on his elegant, reserved smile. He placed those hands beside the boy's lips and breathed against his ear. “Little rabbit, lick them clean for me, will you?”

Mailosi looked at him timidly. For the first time, he realized that what others said was true: someone who seemed gentle could actually be terrifying.

He obediently did as the man wished.

“Boom, ”

Anthony's reason shattered in an instant.

After the masquerade ball, a little rabbit broke into Anthony's home.

His teeth began to ache with the urge to sink into that pale neck.

He pinned him in a corner, breathed in his scent, and warned him, “Shh. Don't move.”

It was rumored that the blood of witches was a potent cure. Anthony had once scoffed at the idea, until he met Mailosi.

He didn't know if it was a cure. He only knew that “Mailosi” was his illness.

2. Western fantasy. I've been into it lately.
