Anti-piracy threshold: 60%

Ivan was an excellent apocalypse-era police officer. During a mission, he was unlucky enough to get bitten by a zombie.

When he woke up, he saw birds everywhere, alive (emphasis on alive), and flying cars soaring through the sky.

Ivan: “My father, my mother, my second uncle's granny, what kind of Garden of Eden is this?”

But before he lost consciousness, he seemed to have seen a man, alive (emphasis on alive).

Heaven knew how long it had been since he had seen a living man.

*

This country was called Fontaine.

There were no zombie hordes erupting at any moment. The people were kind, the citizens obeyed the law, and the Chief Justice, Lord Neuvillette, was the very embodiment of fairness.

Life was wonderful. He was happy here, and he often helped rid the people of harm, catching thieves and helping them settle disputes. They called him “the people's police officer.”

But as the saying goes, a full belly and warm clothes make people think about sex. Once your life is comfortable, you start thinking about spiritual fulfillment.

Ivan remembered the man he'd seen once again.

Hmm... He was handsome. Just his type.

Ivan searched every corner of Fontaine but couldn't find him.

Until... he sat down in a restaurant and ate a whole packet of ketchup.

A squad of guards rushed in. “...You've broken the law. We need to take you to prison.”

Ivan: ?

He hadn't even finished the ketchup in his hand!

At Fontaine's prison...

Miss Melety received him. She looked at the charges in her hands: “Eating ketchup by itself in a cafeteria or restaurant is prohibited.”

Ivan: ...He was about to loudly protest his innocence when, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of that black-and-red figure. He swallowed his complaint and changed his tune.

“I confess. I submit to the law. I am a great sinner of the Court of Fontaine.”

Melety: ?

If only he'd known! If eating ketchup by itself in the cafeteria or restaurant was how he could see that man, he would have sat there eating it every day.

Extra scenes:

One:

“You can rest first, Head Nurse. I need to wait a little longer before I go to sleep.”

Sigewinne tilted her head and asked, “Is there something you need to do, sir?”

“Nighttime is always a good time to settle some accounts. For example... someone who was sent down here by Neuvillette for naming his pet Furina.”

Two:

“This is the thirty-sixth time Neuvillette has sent you down here. Stop breaking the law. I know I've told you this many times.”

“Wherever the prison director is, there I am. I'm a brick in the Fortress of Meropide. Wherever I'm needed, that's where I go.”

“...”
