A Young Magician’s Scientific Survival Guide

Original Title: I’m Probably Going to Die as a Little Kid Current status: Arc 2 complete, Arc 3 in progress. The author is pretty busy (sorry, everyone, sob), so the guaranteed update schedule is once a week, by midnight Sunday. If I have the time, there may be two or three updates a week. · A derivative fic, Type-Moon and Detective Conan crossover Thanks to a game System, Hua Yuan Cheng arrives in a new world and finally becomes one of the magicians he has always admired! But something goes wrong with the System, and he ends up as a thorn in the magicians’ side. It’s common knowledge that magicians in the Moon World are a law unto themselves. Like a husband killing his beloved wife just to get the Holy Grail inside her, which can grant any wish (, according to a certain ally of justice). Or a clan head controlling his granddaughter just to remake her into a suitable magical vessel for his clan (, according to a certain Old Worm). Magicians pursuing the “Magecraft” have extraordinary powers, so naturally they don’t care about the laws of modern society. Five-year-old Hua Yuan Cheng looks at his tiny, weak hands and feet. I’m probably going to die. Luckily, magicians aren’t the only people in this world. Among ordinary people are those with a strong sense of justice, willing to give their lives to protect the light. When they discover the darkness in this world, they won’t just stand by and do nothing. [Arc 1: The Magician on the Run] The Explosives Disposal duo encounter a child. The child’s entire family has been murdered, and they’re fleeing in a panic from their pursuers. This young child did nothing to deserve such a fate. It’s all because they’re a magician. In the Moon World, magicians are heretics who should be purged by the clergy. Hua Yuan Cheng: I’m probably going to die. The Explosives Disposal duo: No, you won’t. [Arc 2: Holy Grail War, Fourth War] The Whiskey Trio, undercover in the Black Organization, receive a mission. The organization has captured a young magician chosen by the Holy Grail and qualified to participate in the Holy Grail War. They must threaten, coerce, and assist this child so he can win a war where he and six other magicians chosen by the Holy Grail fight one another, securing the “Holy Grail that can grant any wish” for the organization. Hua Yuan Cheng: I’m probably going to die. The Whiskey Trio: No, you won’t. [Arc 3: Holy Grail War, Fifth War] A Public Security officer from the National Police Agency encounters a child. The child is being hunted by someone whose identity is unknown. After the blond man and the little detective investigate together, they discover that the pursuer is the child’s adoptive father! As his adoptive father, Kiritsugu loves the child, but in the Moon World, even love can become cruel. The child he adopted has been identified as a [, ] because of his outstanding magical talent, which means that the child’s very existence will become a threat. For the sake of letting the majority survive, the minority must be sacrificed, even if that person is his child, even if the child has never hurt anyone. For the justice he believes in, he will stop at nothing… even to kill this child with his own hands. Hua Yuan Cheng: I’m probably going to die. The Public Security officer and the little detective: No, you won’t. [The author’s own heads-up and rambling] 1. This is a logically challenged author’s illogical “Police Academy Group jointly raises a kid” story, where everyone dotes on the child. There’s sweetness (the relationship arc) and some angst (the plot). The protagonist is five in body and fifteen in spirit, just a fairly sensible, polite kid with somewhat clear reasoning. His magecraft is purely support-oriented, and he can’t even beat the Junior Detective League in a fight. 2. This is not a meme fic or a power fantasy [important]. It may be illogical, but it’s written as a serious drama. The protagonist is sensitive and fragile, with character flaws. He’s not the usual sweet little kid. 3. This is a nontraditional Police Academy Group redemption story. The little kid doesn’t save the Police Academy Group; they save him. He’s an ordinary child with no combat training whatsoever, and in the current situation, he wouldn’t survive three days without them. At a life-or-death moment like this, it’s much more reliable for adults to carry the day than to depend on a child. That’s right, the author just wants to write about the charm of adults looking after a kid.jpg 4. Primarily Detective Conan. The magicians’ world mostly follows traditional Holy Grail War settings. To balance the two sides’ power levels, the Moon World will have some changes and original worldbuilding [important]. Potential original-worldbuilding caveat 1: In Arc 2, the child’s Servant is an original take on Gin; in Arc 3, the child’s Servant is an original take on Hiro (note: Hiro comes back from the dead and is fully restored by the end of Arc 3. The entire Police Academy Group gets a happy ending, so proceed with caution if you can’t accept that). Caveat 2: The Church and the Mage’s Association have not fully ended their war, and the Church kills people in the story as a villainous faction. There may also be other original Moon World details, so please steer clear if you can’t accept original additions to the Moon World. 5. Detective Conan readers who haven’t read the Moon World stories needn’t worry. There are special chapters dedicated to explaining them. Readers familiar with the Moon World stories can decide for themselves whether to purchase those chapters. 6. The author did badly in Chinese class and talks too much, so expect typos and awkward sentences everywhere. 7. My own take on the logic. Arc 2’s ending follows the Fourth War; the Red Side strikes back in Arc 3. 8. The Police Academy Group members are strictly platonic friends with one another. They’re all good friends. The relationships between the Police Academy Group, the employees with code names, and the kid can be familial or romantic (?) [important]. The main story has a subtle one-sided crush: Gin → the kid. The principle is that they only get together once the kid is an adult (in the extras). So you can also read it as having no romance, but people have different comfort levels, so it’s been put in a separate category. 9. That’s right, the kid is constantly being hunted by various factions. He’s not powerful; the people after him are. The Police Academy Group and the little detective (eyes shaking): What on earth did you do to get these people after you?! 10. There are a few small adjustments to details in the Detective Conan timeline. These include moving up the date when Date starts working at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department (because I want him to be part of the fun, sob), the exact year the Whiskey Trio joined the organization, and Gin’s past. Please steer clear if you can’t accept these changes. 11. [Highlighted and bold]: My writing skills are limited, so please don’t have high expectations. I’m busy in real life. Guaranteed weekly updates, at least one every Sunday. Extra chapters may drop at random during the week. 12. There are some peculiar Japanese-language jokes in the story. The style leans Japanese, but the author isn’t very good and ends up imitating the cat but drawing a tiger, so please keep that in mind. Theme: Justice triumphs over evil
