Monster Lover

Although he had gone through something terrible as a child, Morofushi Hiromitsu always felt he was lucky.

His classmates at the police academy all knew he had a sweet boyfriend. He seemed a little clumsy and spacey, but he was adorable. Hiromitsu thought they would stay together forever, but after graduation, work forced him to break up with him. The organization he infiltrated assigned him a mission. It wasn't until the grotesque mass of flesh, covered in eyes and teeth, devoured the colleague who had come with him that he understood the pity in the person in charge's eyes. The mass stopped just before attacking him, finally twisting itself into the shape of a child. Seeing a face exactly like his lover's on the child, Morofushi Hiromitsu felt dizzy.

"...Hold me." Tentacles curled around his fingers. The monstrous child spoke the words of endearment only the two of them shared, and the face in his memories began to blur, replaced by his parents lying in a pool of blood... and the small figure he was holding by the hand.

"Scotch, you know what to do." The cold barrel of a gun pointed at the man's forehead. Blue catlike eyes glinted in the darkness.

"...Of course I do."

PS:

Some degree of out-of-character characterization.

Pairing with Morofushi Hiromitsu. The police academy group gets saved.

The blurb's plot comes much later.

The love interest will be out of the picture for a long time.

[Not a Lovecraftian setting!] [Not a Lovecraftian setting!] [Not a Lovecraftian setting!]

Important enough to say three times.
