A Volleyball Outside Hitter's Experience

As a weapon, he needs power, so a shikigami is implanted in his body.

As a weapon, he doesn't need unnecessary emotions, so his memories and personality are wiped. He is as innocent as a child and extremely obedient.

Hana-in Mamaru doesn't mind being this way.

"Go back to school, Mamaru."

But his guardian and mentor seems to have other ideas.

-

Hana-in Mamaru comes to Sendai City with his mentor, who is there for an academic exchange, and is forcibly transferred to Aoba Johsai High School.

Thanks to his impressive height and the remarkable athletic ability he displays in PE, a number of clubs invite him to join.

After getting permission, he chooses the volleyball club.

"Because the captain reminds me of Ryuji."

His mentor, busy with his studies and work, doesn't pay much attention to what he means by the resemblance.

That is, until one day, the boy who only ever follows orders says he wants to go to Tokyo.

The two people said to resemble each other finally meet.

"He's really annoying, but I have to admit he's a genius."

"That's true. Mamaru is talented."

Mamaru: ? (tilts his head obediently)

-

"Are club activities fun, Mamaru?"

"Yes. I'm having a lot of fun."

The person asking looks at Hana-in Mamaru's still expressionless face and gives a helpless smile.

A few things to know before reading:

1. The protagonist has no romantic pairing. Ryuji is his guardian.

2. Aoba Johsai wins and takes the national championship. Please treat this as an alternate timeline.

3. Versatile in attack and defense, top-tier strength and speed. Who could resist a sweet, obedient 192-cm younger brother?

4. Someone's spot will definitely be taken. I'll do my best to balance everyone's playing time.

5. Volleyball is the main setting, while Haikyuu!! is just a backdrop. It's set in a world leaning toward the yokai series, but that's genuinely just the backdrop, since the protagonist's character only works in this setting.

Core theme: Everyone deserves to enjoy their youth.
