Just as an Old Friend Comes Through the Rain

[Tentatively scheduled to begin in December]

//

A master at Coldwood Temple once said that on the day Xiao Jingyu was born, four bodhi seeds fell from the temple's thousand-year-old bodhi tree. The monks went to collect them, but found only one.

The master said the other three bodhi seeds were all connected to his destined partner.

Xiao Jingyu was no monk, nor did he plan to become one, so he paid little attention to the master's words. It wasn't until ten years later, when he saw an old friend from his youth again, that he handed the only bodhi seed he had to that person's disciple without a second thought.

Mo Yutian stared at the Buddhist mark on his disciple's forehead, identical to Xiao Jingyu's. It took him a long while to find his voice. “...Huh? What does this mean?”

Isn't this my disciple?

Xiao Jingyu closed his eyes and said with difficulty, “This is... a betrothal gift.”

“...” Mo Yutian's mind was in a muddle. He demanded loudly, “My disciple is only eight years old! He's only eight! How can you be so depraved, ”

At that, Xiao Jingyu's tense heart inexplicably calmed. The fingers curled beneath his sleeve relaxed, and he said coldly, “Idiot.”

“This is for you.”

In this world, there was still a fool like Mo Yutian, who actually thought Xiao Jingyu was proposing to his disciple.
