The

//A short story for the Ghost Festival, modern supernatural mystery. 2026/8/24

"Every time I look in the mirror, I see someone dead. Not long after, that person really dies, in exactly the way I saw."

"I can see how other people will die. One day, I met a strange person. I realized... I couldn't see how he would die. His face was pitch-black, and his eyes gazed at me with deep affection and resentment."

"But I knew he could see me, too."

"The day I saw his face, it was an ordinary day. I got home from work and looked in the mirror as usual. The moment I looked into it, I saw my own face, but those eyes weren't mine, even though they looked so much like mine."

"That was me, dead five years ago."

"Which of us is really human, and which of us is really a ghost?"

A ghost in the mirror / narcissistic romance / abnormal love / not a normal person in sight
