Everyone around Zhou Ziqi knew he was gay and had a mysterious boyfriend. In his junior year of college, he moved out of the dorm to live with his boyfriend, but none of his classmates or teachers had ever seen him.
Then one day, he suddenly rushed up to a psychologist and grabbed the doctor's hand almost frantically. "Doctor, my boyfriend is gone. Please help me find him! Please!"
He said his boyfriend was his second personality, named Zi Ai. Everyone thought he was crazy.
-
Zi Ai had never told anyone: apart from Zhou Ziqi, no one could see him. He thought that as long as Ziqi could see him, that was enough. He had come into this world for him, after all.
Later, Zhou Ziqi could no longer see him either. Using the last of his physical form, he told Zhou Ziqi, "Wait for me to come back. We'll never be apart again."
A cycle repeating itself, with no beginning or end, only the little moments in which the two of them warmed each other.
Reader's Guide: HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE.
See the author's profile for the upcoming story, My Moonlight Always Wants Me to Go Back to Him.
A country boy as dark as charcoal transforms into a devoted CEO gong x a doctor shou who's sharp-tongued but soft-hearted
Five years later, Wen Wen reunites with his moonlight, who is also his on-again, off-again ex, at the site of an earthquake in Shuixi Village.
Nurse Cui looks at the fair-skinned man in a suit at the disaster relief site. "Dr. Wen, isn't that the country ex-boyfriend on your lock screen?"
Wen Wen calmly flips through some files. "You've got the wrong guy. Mine's a coal ball that turned into a person."
That night, the man cries outside his room, still insisting he isn't crying.
A few days later, he runs to Wen Wen's room again, looking miserable. "I know your ex-boyfriend in England has eight-pack abs and is cultured and well-educated. I'm the only one who spent five years secretly checking your social media and pretending I'd died, your coldest ex-ex-boyfriend."

Five years earlier, Zhou Sheng had been as dark as a lump of charcoal, while Wen Wen was as delicate and fair as a young bamboo shoot. One was a poor country boy, the other a Shanghai rich kid. They seemed like a mismatch, yet they fell in love, only to break up a year later.
Wen Wen felt that Zhou Sheng always put him last. The villagers, his relatives, even a cow mattered more to him. Family duty came first, and he didn't even have the courage to go with Wen Wen to Shanghai. After the breakup, Wen Wen decisively went abroad for five years and even dated a Chinese man.
Five years later, the boy from the countryside has become a CEO. When he learns that Wen Wen is single again, he clings to him like a puppy and begs to win him back. But then Wen Wen's British ex-boyfriend suddenly arrives at the disaster zone, and the two men face off in a tent.
The Chinese doctor says elegantly, "I'm Wen's ex-boyfriend. I came back this time hoping to win him back."
Zhou Sheng: "I'm Wen Wen's ex-ex-boyfriend. Now that we've met again, I'm going to win him back."
The ex-boyfriend sneers: "I'm the ex-boyfriend. If we're getting back together, I should be first."
Zhou Sheng: "I dated him before you did. If we're getting back together, I should be first."
So the ex-boyfriend and the ex-ex-boyfriend both set out to win him over. Zhou Sheng is terrible at pursuing people, so he learns a cheesy line and uses it.
Zhou Sheng's eyes glisten. "Dr. Wen, I've booked an operation for the day after tomorrow..."
Wen Wen tenses. "What operation?"
"A heart transplant." He takes Wen Wen's hand and presses it against his chest. "You've lived here for five years. It's time I gave you back what belongs to you."
Theme: Love yourself.
But it looks very much like Narcissus (°ー°)
