Becoming the Savior in a Steampunk Game World [Lovecraftian]

The immersive VR game Ascend, which had attracted worldwide attention for its steampunk and Lovecraftian elements, was shut down during beta testing for unknown reasons.

Thirteen hundred beta testers from around the world were trapped inside the game.

Yun Xi was one of them.

To return to the real world, she had to achieve the ending that matched her role.

And the role the System chose for her was... Savior.

*

This world has gone mad.

Nuns light lamps with human fat, nobles hallucinate by eating tentacles, princes keep demons as pets, and sea monsters hunt beneath the waters traversed by luxury liners...

Yet all of this is hidden beneath a web of lies.

Deceived, Yun Xi knows nothing of the world's true nature. When the game shut down, she was doing a beginner's quest. She was a sacrifice offered to a god, and the System told her that, as the Savior, she herself was a seal.

The Evil God lies scattered in pieces across the land. To stop heretics from putting the Evil God back together, Yun Xi must find the organs before they do.

The nearest organ is on the sacrificial altar.

She has to swallow the Evil God's eye.

A coming-of-age story with a strong female lead. I plan to make it a long novel.

There is a romance, but it won't take up much of the story. This is my own worldbuilding.

Theme: Stay true to yourself
