Even a “Pretty Wreck” Can Save the World

In the year 8392 of the New Calendar, the earth's ley lines ran wild. Humanity could not resist the erosion of demonic energy; people would inevitably lose their minds and turn into monsters, plunging the entire nation into chaos.

Prince Cerys set out in the name of the Empire to quell the raging ley lines at the border, fighting bravely for the people's peace.

But only those in the know understood that this supposedly honorable expedition was, in truth...

An exile.

Cerys, the Empire's only prince, had been corrupted by demonic energy and had little time left to live. He was willing to spend the last moments of his life guarding humanity's final line of defense.

As soon as Cerys arrived at the frontier, before he could even choose a grave, demonic energy entered his body. Just as his sanity was about to crumble,

a slender hand gripped his chin. The man's beautiful golden hair shone like a halo above his head as he teased,

“Look at this. Where did this little stray dog come from?”

Yes, he had found a beautiful, fragile young master in a place of death.

He couldn't lift a thing or carry a load, was delicate and weak, knew nothing about the world, yet could soothe the demonic energy within Cerys.

Cerys: ...I'll let him calling me a stray dog slide for now.

But word got around that the youngest son of the Ye family had called His Highness the prince a stray dog, and everyone started gossiping.

The Ye family had served the Empire faithfully for generations, only to have it all ruined by their youngest son.

I was once the highest peak in this world, and I will be the highest peak forever.

TIPS:

1. Abandoned prince doggy gong x “useless beauty” shou, 1v1, younger gong.

2. “Stray dog” isn't meant as an insult. The shou has no common sense and feels distinctly inhuman. The quotation marks are significant. He's an unconventional useless beauty, but he really is delicate, demanding, and sharp-tongued. If that's not your thing, read something else.

3. No matter what you read in the main story that might make you question it, remember: this is a younger gong story =w=

4. My take on Western fantasy. The setting is entirely fictional, so don't try to research it. This is all made up as I go.

Theme: Don't judge a book by its cover
