Eight Thousand Miles of Poetry and Paintings

My next contemporary romance will be Ten Years. Please add it to your favorites. (A cool, top-student campus belle and a poor-performing school heartthrob, from school to the working world, with school days appearing in flashbacks.)

Blurb:

The second young master of the Ning family, Ning Buqu, is a free spirit who loves his freedom. He gives up the family fortune and runs off to a remote town a thousand li away, where he opens a guesthouse called Ning's Little Lodge.

Every day, he fishes by the river, cooks a dish or two, and pours himself a small cup of wine to drink with the moon. With the earth for a bed and the sky for a blanket, he lives a carefree, easygoing life.

That is, until one day, a girl comes to Ning's Little Lodge...

The girl's name is Shihua, and she's as lovely as a poem or a painting.

Ning Buqu falls for her, and his heart, which had been as still as an ancient well for more than twenty years, begins to ripple.

His monk-like life is over.

He stops fishing, drinking, and smoking, and spends every day following the young woman around, kissing her, hugging her, and picking her up in his arms.

Finally, one day, after Ning's Little Lodge has been closed to guests for three days, Shihua can't take it anymore.

Her soft voice comes from beside his ear. "We can't go on like this."

Ning Buqu hums in agreement. "We can't keep doing this?"

The girl nods firmly. Ning Buqu reflects on his behavior, then scoops her up and carries her outside to bask in the sun. "Then today, we'll open up for... business!"

From the southern clouds to the northern skies, from the gentle waters of Jiangnan to the lush green grasslands. From south to north, eight thousand li of life's journey, all in pursuit of you.
