The Horror Photo Studio

"I cross the timeline of death only to change the fate of your destined demise."

Someone had a white-background ID photo taken at the photo studio on the street corner. A week later, that photo was hanging on the wall of a funeral home.

Someone else had a picture taken at the same studio. Not long afterward, it appeared on the police's wall of victim photos.

Wen Quan, a forensic doctor, lived near the studio. That day, its door stood open, and cold air poured out from within, setting the wind chime above the door ringing nonstop. As if drawn by some mysterious force, he stepped inside.

Eerie, frightening ID photos against white backgrounds were lined up before him. Every one was displayed in an ornate frame, and some of the faces belonged to victims he had encountered at crime scenes.

Just as he stood there, baffled, the wind chime rang beside his ear and the front door suddenly slammed shut. A young man holding an old-fashioned camera smiled, his eyes curving. But the bell on the red cord around his wrist was wreathed in black mist.

When the flash lit up once more, space and time began to collapse, and he was back at the moment he had first stepped into the studio...

"Sir, would you like a photo? Get a free urn with your photo!"
