Abyss Archives [Cthulhu Crime Investigation]

[A mysterious occult consultant Shou who seems carefree but sees through everything x a criminal investigation team captain Gong who starts out a materialist and later has his worldview reshaped]

Criminal investigation captain Lu Qiansheng believes there is no such thing as a perfect crime, only clues that haven’t been found.

That is, until he takes on the "Locked-Room Disappearance Case": a living person walks into a dead end in full view of the security cameras and vanishes without a trace.

With every lead cut off and pressure mounting, the bureau brings in an "exorcist" consultant named Qin Yu.

Consultant Qin keeps talking about "folds in spacetime" and "higher-dimensional spaces."

Lu Qiansheng: "Quit pretending to be a mystic. That’s utter nonsense!"

Later, as a massive, writhing shadow bears down on them, Qin Yu shields him with his whole body. Blood slides from the corner of his mouth, yet he’s still smiling. "Captain Lu, do you believe now that there are things beyond the limits of science?"

Lu Qiansheng pulls the trigger and drags him behind himself. "I believe you. This time, I’ll protect you."
