Squad leader Di Ye is decisive and forceful, with a bit of a gangster air about him. He’s best at overpowering his opponents with sheer presence.

A new forensic doctor recently joined the team. No matter how Di Ye looked at him, he seemed frail, with a face that was thirty percent babyish and seventy percent sweet. Di Ye just couldn’t tell if he’d been weaned yet.

One day, the criminal investigation team encountered a major case. Di Ye teased Leng Ning, who looked harmless, while holding a bottle of AD Calcium Milk: “Go stand over there and suck on your milk.”

Leng Ning silently accepted it. “Thanks.”

Di Ye waved away the young officers who were covering their mouths and throwing up. “Everyone, stand back!”

He glanced at the crime scene and felt his stomach turn.

Leng Ning calmly stepped forward to examine the body, handling it this way and that before performing an autopsy right there on the spot.

When he was done, he put away his scalpel, took out the AD Calcium Milk, and casually started drinking it.

Di Ye: ??? What are you… doing?

Leng Ning: Performing an autopsy.

Di Ye: ???

Leng Ning: Oh, now I’m drinking milk.

Until an explosion changed everything

When Xing Zhuo rushed into the fire, Jin Cheng was pinned down by the leg under a steel beam.

“You here to collect my body?”

“Here to hear your last words.”

As Xing Zhuo carried Jin Cheng out of the blast site on his back, Jin Cheng asked, “Back then, you were the one who stole the love letter I wrote to the school beauty, weren’t you?”

Xing Zhuo took two steps, then stopped. “I just couldn’t stand someone misspelling ‘encounter’ as ‘afterglow.’”

After they returned from the explosion, something finally shifted between them. Jin Cheng invited Xing Zhuo to dinner. They drank and toasted, neither willing to back down, until they both got drunk and somehow ended up in the same bed.

When Jin Cheng woke up, his legs felt weak and sore. Remembering what happened the night before, he decided to pretend he couldn’t remember and act as if it had never happened.

Xing Zhuo woke up, looked at the messy bed, and felt a burning pain in his back. He couldn’t remember what had happened the night before at all.

At the team meeting the next day, Xing Zhuo commented on Jin Cheng’s proposal: “Captain Jin’s proposal is very hard…”

Then he turned and saw Jin Cheng glaring at him as if he wanted to kill him.

Xing Zhuo: ???

During a joint operation, Jin Cheng heard his colleague shout, “Captain Xing, you’re so fast!”

Xing Zhuo turned around and saw a gun pointed at him.

Xing Zhuo: !!!

Later, they ran into each other at a counseling center, but pretended not to know one another.

Therapist: “How can I help you?”

Jin Cheng: “Someone wants to sleep with me.”

Xing Zhuo: “Someone wants to kill me.”

Therapist: …
