How a Mushroom Evolves into a God from the Start

Chu Li is just an ordinary gamer.

If there's one thing that sets him apart from other players, it's probably his nimble mind, which is exceptionally good at finding loopholes in games.

One day, while looking through the new game recommendations in the game's store, Chu Li spots a game titled "108 Little Tricks for Creating a God".

In the game, players must conquer one world after another and gather faith to become the supreme god of the universe.

The description warns that the game is extremely difficult and shouldn't be attempted lightly. Instead, it only makes Chu Li more interested.

But when he opens the game, he finds that he starts with only one little mushroom.

How could the living beings of the world worship a mushroom?

Chu Li stares at the mushroom on the screen for two seconds, then suddenly grins. "What is this, Plants vs. Zombies?"

Facing an apocalypse overrun by zombies and descended into chaos, Chu Li takes a practical approach and diligently plants mushrooms in every corner of the world, right on top of everyone's faith.

Humans, zombies, mutated beasts, or plants, faith has no distinctions of rank or worth. Every living being should be his believer.

At last, the people of the world offer up their faith, buying their species a chance to survive.

It is also because of this that beasts rise up and become beastfolk, elves appear in the human world, and walking corpses regain their senses and become undead. Thus, the various races of today come to be.

"Records of the Old Days"

Faced with fanatical believers who treat a false god as their faith and offer up their own flesh and blood, Chu Li lets himself go and shocks them with a purer evil, without the slightest guilt.

...But honestly, believing in him is better than believing in someone else. At least he doesn't demand offerings of flesh and blood.

The deranged evil god travels to every corner of the world in search of his missing limbs. Countless people go mad from his incoherent, lunatic words.

A skeleton hums as it walks. "Where is my skin? I think I heard it screaming in a church to the south. Where is my hair? Turns out it silently strangled a bunch of accursed heretics."

But then the muscles draped over the skeleton speak up to argue: "...Oh, we went the wrong way. This is the west. How can even the map navigation get it wrong?!"

What a chaotic, insane being. It's actually arguing with itself... The bystander, unable to understand the evil god's words, lowers his head. He doesn't dare look directly at its appearance, but can't help thinking this to himself.

There's no denying it: the game is really fun.

But perhaps he's been playing too much. Even Chu Li himself seems to be affected by the game's story.

"Father God above!"

In his dream, countless voices overlap in his ears.

It seems as if he can truly hear the people praying.

Notes:

1. Mildly cosmic horror. The gamer has a chaotic evil alignment.

2. The story includes more than the two worlds mentioned in the blurb.

3. To fix my sleep schedule, updates will now be at 9 p.m. _(:з"∠)_

4. To be continued. More details later...
