I’m Done Being Human [Interstellar]

[All the bonus chapters have now been updated. Thank you, everyone!] Bai Sha transmigrated into the interstellar age and landed on a remote planet notorious throughout the galaxy for its poverty. After spending three years killing fish to save up her tuition, she seized her only chance and took the entrance exam for the Federal Military Academy. To her utter surprise, she passed the exam but still couldn’t enroll. The genetic test in her admission physical showed that she wasn’t human. More precisely, she was an Aresian. * The Aresians were the absolute rulers of the neighboring Empire’s civilization. They looked no different from humans, but could turn their mental power into animal forms. So Bai Sha was whisked away to the Imperial Military Academy in the middle of the night. The Empire was fabulously wealthy. They gave her money, a house, and a spaceship. Overnight, Bai Sha went from rags to riches. Her only problem was that her classmates weren’t very easy to deal with. In mental-form combat class, her classmates’ mental avatars were all ferocious beasts like tigers, leopards, eagles, and wolves, so fierce and powerful that a single glance could make three little kids cry. But Bai Sha transformed right there into a fluffy white ball. A tiny bird with a pair of black beadlike eyes, soft, snowy feathers, a sweet, clear call, and the petite body of a long-tailed tit. Her military academy classmates: ... Honestly, they had to be careful not to bite her mental avatar to death. * Bai Sha became a legend who had risen from a remote planet. People said she was a lost jewel of the Empire, and that one genetic test had taken her from the bottom of society straight to the top, making her a new student at the Imperial Military Academy. She sounded like the sort of character who was all looks and no substance. Until the Federation and the Empire held joint military exercises. When Bai Sha was surrounded by elite cadets from other military academies, she fought five at once and beat those arrogant geniuses to the ground one after another. Until a sudden swarm of star bugs invaded the competition grounds. With the event being livestreamed to the whole world, Bai Sha released her mental avatar. The tiny long-tailed tit evolved on the spot into the legendary mental avatar known as the Black Bird. The Federation: Those sly Imperials! Why were they pretending to be helpless? The Empire: Were our eyes playing tricks on us? The Black Bird? Isn’t that the royal family’s exclusive mental avatar? The Emperor, watching the competition livestream on the Star Network: ... Content warnings: A power fantasy with a golden finger. The Emperor isn’t her biological father. She reunites with her family after returning to the Empire. One-sided crushes may occur. There isn’t much romance, so we’ll see how it goes. Coming Soon Wouldn’t It Be Nice to Be a Beta? Bai Yu went out to buy soy sauce and got hit by a truck. She was reborn in an ABO world with six genders, as a female beta. She struggled to survive on a junk planet for ten years, working her way up from a street thug to the owner of a repair shop. She became part of the junk planet’s “wealthy class,” and just as her business was taking off and the future looked bright, A group of people from the capital suddenly dropped out of the sky, demolished her repair shop, and claimed she was descended from nobility. They wanted to take her to the capital to reunite with her family. Bai Yu: “At first, I thought they were scammers. Then I thought they might have some serious mental problems.” * The lost daughter of Duke Yierluo had returned. The Yierluo family was the center of everyone’s attention, a powerful noble house famous for producing geniuses with S-plus physical and mental abilities. Everyone wondered whether this illustrious young lady would be a gifted alpha or a noble, gentle omega... The truth left them dumbfounded. She was just an ordinary beta. And yet her beautiful face and noble blood still attracted countless people, who fell over themselves to pursue her and became utterly infatuated... In an ABO world deeply affected by pheromones, you could find a lovesick fool every three steps and an obsessive lunatic every five. But Bai Yu was an unromantic beta, immune to every signal of love in a world ruled by pheromones. She served calming tea to alphas in heat, placed ice packs on the heads of omegas in heat, ignored every suitor grinding their teeth in frustration, and devoted herself to being an extra who had locked away her heart. Bai Yu: “This is the best.” * Bai Yu was the daughter of a princess and a descendant of a ducal family. Though she had royal blood, she was so far down the line of succession that she would never become the heir. ...Until her unhinged uncle took the throne and slaughtered every relative, near and distant, who had a claim to it. Under the Empire’s bloodline succession law, if she were an alpha, she would be next in line for the throne. Bai Yu: “Thanks, but I think being a beta my whole life would be just fine. At least I won’t get my head chopped off.” Unfortunately, things didn’t go her way. After a highly secretive secondary gender presentation, she transformed completely from a beta into an alpha, and even gained a mental avatar... An egg. Bai Yu: ...Are you messing with me? * One day, the Emperor had a heart-to-heart with his niece over a video call. The Emperor: “The royal family’s mental avatar is the only mythical creature among all mental avatars: a dragon. It takes a lot of nutrients for a mental avatar to develop and hatch, and it also needs mental guidance from an elder.” Bai Yu: “I see, hahaha. But what does that have to do with me?” The Emperor, growing increasingly irritable: “Do I have to spell it out? Now bring your egg and get over here.” Bai Yu: “...If I say it’s not a mental avatar but my guardian sweetheart, would you believe me?” Reader’s Guide: 1. A wish-fulfillment story, a mishmash of interstellar tropes. The heroine is a dominant alpha, the kind with a big dick. Whether it’s GB is up to you to decide (lying flat). 2. The blurb has been revised. This is the final version. The male characters mentioned before will still appear. Sending love. Theme: Don’t let others define you.
