[The King's Avatar] Get Your Act Together

"Fang Rui, could you please use your head for once!"

"Use my head? What kind of head?"

"When you follow your heart without hesitation, your stubbornness isn't wasted..."

The words in the quotation marks are from Zhang Shaohan's song Believe in You. Bilibili creator Difei made a pitch-lowered version for Fang Rui.

Reader advisory:

1. The King's Avatar fanfiction, original female lead, Fang Rui pairing, older woman-younger man romance. This is a collaborative fic that A Yan and I discussed for a long time. She's writing a Zhou Zekai romance. Our goal is to conquer the fifth season cast [just kidding].

2. The opening blurb is just a joke and has little to do with the story. The overall tone probably won't be very cheerful. The female lead is a complicated person, the romance is a tangled mess, and Fang Rui keeps walking the line of being out of character.

3. This is my fifth The King's Avatar fanfic, and I'm starting it as my 2021 finale. I'll open the story now and write the rest as I go. I don't have much of an outline at this point, so I'll just wing it and see where the story takes me. Be prepared to run for the hills at any moment.

Theme: I can't forgive anyone who surrenders to fate.
