Q: How can a cat picked up off the street get by under the care of its human?
A: Let them pet you, hold you, and kiss you. Don’t make a fuss or wreck the house.
Mu Zhiyang guiltily reflected that aside from letting himself be petted and held, he hadn’t managed to do a single thing on that list.
Not only that, he’d knocked over a bookshelf, “accidentally” bitten through a charging cable, and hammered on the glass door in the middle of the night...
Even so, Mu Zhiyang eventually fell to the human’s gentle advances and did his best to behave.
He cheered the human up whenever he was feeling down,
covered his ears when noise bothered him,
and stayed by his side to soothe him to sleep when he couldn’t sleep...
But the key problem was that Mu Zhiyang realized something was very wrong.
He seemed to be human, too...
Mu Zhiyang, the South Tower’s chief Guide, had been gravely injured and unconscious for three months. When he opened his eyes in his hospital bed, all he could think about after his two-month stint as a cat was five words:
I’m done. Let it all burn.
Losing consciousness and becoming a silly cat through merging with his spirit form might not sound like a big deal.
But when Mu Zhiyang discovered that the merger had strengthened his ability to feel what his spirit form felt, things got complicated.
It was more useful when he went on missions, but it also caused more inconvenience.
The main issue was that whenever he went on missions with a certain Sentinel who had picked him up and taken him home, someone would secretly pet his cat.
Sometimes they scratched his chin or stroked his head, which made him feel like he was being petted himself.
But when they touched his tail...
Mu Zhiyang slapped the mission files down on the table with a bang and recalled his spirit form. “No petting the cat during work hours!”
The Sentinel he’d just called out, Xuan Qiye, looked at his empty hands, then at Mu Zhiyang’s reddening ears.
Had he just discovered Commander Mu’s little secret?
TIPS:
1. Physically oriented Sentinel top x mentally oriented Guide bottom. One-on-one, a powerful team.
2. The bottom is a Mary Sue, with his protagonist halo turned up to the max. The story starts with cat-raising before moving into the main plot. In cat form, the bottom doesn’t know he’s human (important!), but he and the cat really are one and the same. This will be explained in the story. The romance begins after he turns human again.
3. My take on the Sentinel-Guide genre, written for myself. There are [very] extensive personal worldbuilding details, which will be explained in the story. You don’t need to know the genre to enjoy it.
4. The setting is entirely fictional. Technology is rebuilding after an apocalypse and progressing toward the future.
Here’s the blurb for an upcoming novel:
--- Will a Guide Whose Spirit Form Is an Undying Phoenix Also Gain Eternal Life?
Urban legend has it that dimensional rifts open at night, unleashing strange monsters.
A giant bird wreathed in flames soars above the city, lighting up the night sky and striking fear into the monsters.
Qu Jingzhou sat atop a tower and snapped his fingers in the direction of the fiery bird. Flames burst across the sky like fireworks.
The next second, he was handcuffed for “disturbing the peace.”
*
Urban legend has it that a firebird cries out every night, appearing after dark and vanishing at dawn. Online rumors claim it is a divine manifestation.
The Bureau of Abnormal Event Management sent someone to investigate the truth behind the rumors.
And so, atop the city’s tallest tower, Li San caught a Guide who had let his spirit form run wild.
The Guide knew nothing when questioned in the interrogation room. A background check turned up no trace that he had ever existed. He was an undocumented nobody.
After investigating and confirming that Qu Jingzhou hadn’t intended to cause trouble, Li San had no choice but to let him go.
But the guy didn’t leave. Instead, he latched on to him. “Officer, I’ve got nowhere else to go. How about you let me be your partner?”
*
According to rumors at the Bureau of Abnormal Event Management, a stunning beauty had recently joined the bureau and latched on to their usually unflappable captain, Li San. He’d bewitched the masses with his looks and had the captain wrapped around his little finger.
An anonymous insider confirmed that every word of the rumor was true. Passing by the captain’s office that morning, they’d heard Captain Li say to the beauty, “Qu Jingzhou! Get over here and put your coat on!”
TIPS:
1. A flirtatious beauty of a Guide bottom x a by-the-book, enlisted Sentinel top.
2. My take on the Sentinel-Guide genre, with a mountain of personal worldbuilding. If you don’t know the genre, just let me ramble about it in the story.
3. Urban supernatural setting, entirely fictional. Basically, the whole thing is made up by me.
--- The Merman Was Kept in Captivity After Entering a Book of Prophecies
The land was polluted by an unknown plague, living creatures mutated, monsters ran rampant, ancient gods fell, and disasters struck without end.
A massive tsunami threatened to swallow the land, while demons that devoured lives filled the cracked valleys.
The merman Li En sat on a rock by the sea, matching the scene before him with the words in the book of prophecies.
So the prophecies were all true.
What was he supposed to do now?
Li En turned around, ready to head ashore, when a giant net dropped from the sky and scooped him up.
*
Surrounded by a crowd of humans, Li En didn’t dare move.
In his eyes, humans were tiny, fragile, and quick to die.
But in the humans’ eyes, merfolk were gorgeous, delicate, prone to depression, and expensive.
Li En and the humans stared at each other, none of them daring to move.
Finally, someone suggested, “How about... we give him to the boss?”
And so Li En got a deluxe, three-meter-tall aquarium and a crowd of fragile humans who gathered around him every day to put on shows and keep him entertained.
Li En tilted his head and pointed at one of them. “You. Do that thing you just did again.”
*
When Song Xinian returned from a mission, he found a giant aquarium at home, along with a merman monster everyone agreed was nothing but a pretty face.
His teammates were performing some kind of ritual in front of the aquarium to keep the merman from dying of depression.
He angrily chased the useless lot out, only to find the merman leaning against the aquarium, chin in his hands, watching him.
“Are you here to perform a ritual for me, too?”
*
Li En discovered that the humans in this world weren’t as fragile as the ones in his memories. They also loved performing sacrificial rites for him, which helped him recover his strength quickly.
There was just one problem: the humans seemed to be overprotective. They even prepared exquisite raw fish sashimi for him, but only gave him a tiny portion. So hungry, he snuck out in the middle of the night to gnaw on his spoils.
One time, he was chomping on a monster’s bones, his face smeared with blood, when the warehouse door opened.
Song Xinian stood outside, at a loss for words. “You... is your stomach all right?”
Li En: What kind of question was that?
TIPS:
1. Inhuman merman/ancient god bottom x S-rank mutated rich and handsome/Chosen top. One-on-one, and still a powerful pairing in terms of strength.
2. The bottom is a beautiful, otherworldly being who seems innocent but is secretly cunning and has no grasp of common sense. He’s an ancient relic tens of thousands of years old, with an absurdly powerful golden finger and an overpowered character setup.
3. A mash-up of pseudo-Western fantasy and an apocalyptic world of evolution, with myths and legends I made up. Don’t scrutinize the details; just let me make things up.
There are other upcoming novels in my collection. Love you all, mwah~
Theme: Take responsibility for your own life and be someone who loves life.
Both of them are actually very considerate... Xiao Mu's character is such that he has to shoulder everything by himself, so that he has the least loss, the greatest sacrifice, and the least. Naturally, he should bear all the responsibilities himself. This approach is too responsible and sometimes feels a bit like control. But in fact, if possible, he is not willing to take the initiative to control others, but he is a soldier on the front line and the commander-in-chief. Xuan Qiye will tell him that you don't need to be so involved in yourself, you can relax a little... It's not about relaxing through counseling, but not to put this kind of trouble into your mental picture in the first place.
It's so beautiful that it makes me feel soft-hearted. I don't know how I came across this article just now [Let me be healthy] [Let me be healthy] [Orange candy].
It feels like Xuan knows that this spiritual body is the deity?
Because Xiao Xuan is too sensitive, even counseling would be painful... So he cannot understand "normal", not even the life of a normal sentinel, let alone a normal person, which shows how precious Xiao Mu is. If Xiao Mu had just done the counseling in a business-like manner, he might not be so happy, but he is still very considerate, even if he is a little impatient and has a bad temper, he is cute and cute, and the thought of letting Xiao Xuan try to eat normal meals is unique. I feel like Xiao Xuan's pity interacts with his own thoughtfulness... Thanks to today's limited exemption and the author, I think it's so cute and I can't help but say a lot
