Natsume's Armed Detective Agency Diary

[Main story complete. Enjoy! Revisions and extra chapters may be added from time to time.] [Warning: The later plot gets pretty bad. Run while you can.] After graduating from high school, Natsume went to university in Yokohama. On his first day there, a voice that was 99% identical to his called out to him. Ranpo the kitty (clutching the president's clothes): “Ah, President! I found an amazing new worker! Hurry and talk him into joining us!” Natsume: “???” There was someone besides his childhood friend, Goyen, whose voice sounded so much like his? On his first day working at the Armed Detective Agency, a boy with a bowl cut and a mouth hidden by his collar knocked on the door. “Kelp.” On his second day working at the Agency, a red-haired boy with different-colored eyes knocked on the door. The moment the members heard his voice, they all wore the same stunned expression. On his third day working at the Agency, a boy with blue-violet hair and a tennis bag knocked on the door. The great detective didn't even look up. “If you're looking for someone to heal you, go straight and turn left.” On his fourth day working at the Agency, a pale-skinned, naturally curly-haired police officer in a sharp suit and sunglasses knocked on the door... On his Nth day working at the Agency, Natsume met a boy wearing strange glasses and a hair clip at a cafe. An all-too-familiar voice sounded in his head: “Hello?” Natsume hugged his increasingly round Nyanko-sensei close. Whatever. He could take out a special-grade curse with one punch. A psychic was no big deal. He was used to this by now. [Reading guide] 1. Natsume's ability (?): The Book of Friends! 2. Everyone is a Natsume fan! 3. The story won't follow the blurb's plot in every respect. 4. The author loves voice actor references, saving characters with tragic fates, and switching to comedy mode now and then. I'm also pretty scatterbrained. 4. This story was officially published on October 16, 2022. The publication date shown by the System is from last year, when I accidentally clicked the wrong thing, QVQ. 5. A few warnings: This Natsume isn't saintly or indiscriminately kind. He feels obligated to save people, but won't save bad people. Yato raised him, and he helped Yato exorcise creatures from the Far Shore, ayakashi, and curses. He's also defeated yokai. His combat strength is maxed out; he's no sheltered flower who needs people to look after him at every turn. He can kill, but only bad people, and he won't kill anyone who doesn't count as bad. He isn't like Conan, who embodies absolute justice. He's closer to the members of the police academy group. So please don't say, “I wouldn't mind another protagonist, but Natsume just won't do.” If you can't accept that, don't read it. Theme: Kind people deserve to be treated kindly.
