The Landlubber Water Ghost Is Acting Out the Plot Again

After Jiang Yu was murdered, he heard a voice promising that if he bound himself to a System and followed the plot, he could come back to life. To save himself, he agreed at once.

Then he became a water ghost.

Jiang Yu couldn't believe it. "You call this being alive?"

System: "Just tell me, are you alive or not? Your current mission is..."

Jiang Yu thrashed around in the water. "Help! I can't swim!"

System: "You're a water ghost. How could you possibly drown?"

...Glug, glug, glug...

So before he could follow the plot, Jiang Yu's mission became learning to swim.

But he just couldn't get the hang of it. In the end, the System had to buy an item on credit that let him move freely underwater.

Then, on the day the plot was supposed to happen, Jiang Yu had just tossed the protagonist gong and shou into the river when the item stopped working.

"Why does this item have a time limit? Glug, glug... Help! I can't swim!"

System: "That's what you get for not reading the instructions and playing around all the time! Things always go wrong at the worst possible moment."

In the end, the protagonist gong and shou rescued Jiang Yu together.

Jiang Yu curled his toes against the floor, too embarrassed to speak. ...This is so awkward.

Later, the two protagonists took this water ghost who couldn't swim home and kept him as a pet.

Plot 1:

Jiang Yu: As expected of the protagonists. Other people raise flowers, birds, or pets, but these two are bold enough to keep a ghost. Impressive.

Living in the protagonists' home made it convenient for him to advance the plot and help build their love and careers.

He had to work hard to follow the plot!

Follow the plot with all his might!

Get going, plot!

Then one day, the two protagonists asked Jiang Yu to choose one of them.

Jiang Yu was shocked and torn. He never thought that even after dying, he'd have to choose between Mom and Dad. And according to the plot, the two protagonists should be all lovey-dovey right now. Why were they suddenly splitting up? Had he not been doing enough to advance the plot?

Meanwhile, the System watched the oblivious water ghost and was ready to laugh in exasperation. The plot had completely fallen apart, and the two protagonists were fighting over him, yet this guy was still acting like a clueless pet!
