Did the Little Sprite Cause Trouble Today?

Carol was a disabled elf. He had no wings and couldn’t see anyone with a matching affinity who could become his contract partner. Every elf born in the same year as him had found a suitable partner, but he was still all alone.

The little elf, mocked by the others, puffed out his cheeks and charged at them to fight. He wasn’t someone you could push around.

Although he won the fight, Carol wasn’t happy. Where in the world was his contract partner?

He had heard from the other elves that suitable contract partners always gave off a special light, and that the person whose light shone brightest was the one they could form a contract with.

One day, as Carol walked through the forest, he saw a shaft of sunlight break through the gray sky. A young man stood bathed in its glow.

Against the dim backdrop, he was the only one shining with light.

That was his contract partner!!!

The little elf, filled with joy, hurried toward him, stumbling as he went.

Because of his unusual silver-gray hair, Leo was considered an ill omen by the royal family. He had even been deprived of the chance to become a contract partner. While his siblings went to the Sacred Land of the Elves, he could only sit alone in the forest, lost in thought.

But he didn’t care about earning the favor of some elf. Those small, arrogant creatures were just as disgusting as the hypocritical royals.

But when a little elf came running up to him and asked with an expectant look whether he could become his contract partner, the elf’s beautiful blond hair and shy smile were the loveliest sight he had ever seen.

From then on, the little elf without wings was cradled in his contract partner’s hands and cherished in his heart. Together, they weathered hardship and shared good fortune, step by step making their way to the top.

Only later did the little elf realize he had found the wrong contract partner. Leo wasn’t his contract partner at all.
