The Frail NPC Is a Max-Level Expert

Yu Le is an infamous NPC in the Infinite World.

Whenever players receive a mission to protect Yu Le, he gasps for breath every three steps and coughs every five. Before anyone even hits him, he's already dead.

(Cause of death: scared to death by the sound of artillery fire.)

Players: ???

When Yu Le has the most important information needed to clear a level, the players anxiously ask him who the killer is.

Yu Le grabs one of the players' hands. "The killer, the killer is..."

Before he can finish, he dies.

(Cause of death: suffocated from excitement.)

When players have to team up with an NPC to complete a mission, they look at Yu Le and burst into tears.

Yu Le, pale as a sheet, comforts them. "Hi, teammate. Don't cry. I'm really not that easy to kill."

As soon as he finishes speaking, he collapses.

(Cause of death: roasted to death by the sun.)

When Yu Le is assigned as a guide NPC to lead players to a mission site, he gets killed by a rabbit before they even reach their destination.

Players: ...Can you die any more arbitrarily? And where on earth is the mission site?!

One day, players discover a bug in the Infinite World that lets them take an NPC out of an instance.

They rub their hands together and grin sinisterly.

Take Yu Le out, beat him up eight hundred times a day. Heh, just thinking about it feels great.

Yu Le is the most miserable worker in the Infinite World. No pay, no days off, a pathetically weak body, and eight hundred deaths a day.

If the Main System weren't controlling him, he'd have quit long ago.

Then one day, a group of players abducts him and takes him out of the instance. The restraints on him are removed along with it.

Yu Le: There's an opportunity like this?

Sickly Yu Le looks at the players in front of him, who are rubbing their hands together and pulling out countless torture devices and weapons. He gives a weak smile. "Let's talk this out. There's no need for violence."

The players ignore him and keep approaching with cruel grins.

A while later, the players Yu Le sent flying are weeping. What is wrong with this NPC? Wasn't he supposed to be weak? How is he so strong?

From the gong's point of view:

He is an evil god from another world. Amid the chaos, he has never cared about other life forms. They are ants, dust, creatures he can destroy with a flick of his hand. But one day, a tiny human manages to hurt him.

For the first time, the evil god feels pain and anger. He decides to find this intruder and punish him in the most horrifying way possible.

But the intruder never appears again.

The evil god disguises himself as a human, and at last finds him. But before he can carry out his revenge, the human dies right in front of him... then comes back to life... then dies again... then comes back to life again...

The evil god: ...

Later, the evil god realizes that this human has stirred more than pain and anger in him. Every emotion and sensation he feels is now bound up with the other man.
