The Palace Chef’s Restaurant [Gourmet]

[Collecting favorites for my new food novel, The Divine Beast Diner!] Blurb: Bai Yinuo, a food official in the Great Wei dynasty and a renowned culinary genius, could stir-fry a root of grass and make it taste like a dish fit for immortals. Her fame was so great that everyone in the imperial palace knew her. From the emperor and his consorts to the eunuchs and palace maids, they all adored her cooking. In a single moment, she transmigrates into the body of a young orphan in the twenty-first century. No parents, a house with bare walls, empty pockets, and nothing but a tiny, run-down restaurant left behind by her family. Faced with such desperate circumstances, Bai Yinuo has no choice but to pick up the wok spatula. When the new restaurant opens, passersby hardly give Bai's Eatery a second glance. They have no interest in going inside. “What’s so special about fried rice? I can make that myself.” “Desserts from a restaurant can’t possibly taste as good as ones from a dessert shop.” Later, all they can say is: “It’s so good!” “Boss, is this unbelievably delicious rice really just ordinary egg fried rice?” “After eating here, I dream about beef fried rice, crystal shrimp cakes, and walnut cream.” “I had the soup dumplings yesterday. The skins were paper-thin, and one bite filled my mouth with savory broth. So delicious! I’ve never had soup dumplings this good in my life!” “Plum juice is the best! It’s unbelievably delicious. I’d swallow my own tongue just to get more.” P.S. The male lead is stunningly handsome and appears in the middle to later part of the story. He’s mostly in the background, and it’s love at first sight for him. Aside from the main couple, there are no side couples among the main cast. The fully edited version is available only on Jinjiang.
