When Gu Wanyang first transmigrated, she found a man on the verge of death at the foot of the mountain. Whenever she so much as approached the battered man,

Man: “Don’t come near me!”

Later, after Gu Wanyang nursed him back to health with plenty of good food, he kept hovering around her.

Gu Wanyang: “Don’t come near me!”

All Gu Wanyang wanted was for the battered man to recover quickly and leave, so he wouldn’t get in the way of her making money. She never expected that the man, who’d been eager to run away at first, would help her set up a stall and open a restaurant once he recovered!

But after that, he would disappear for a few days every so often. Then one day, he vanished for good. That day, Gu Wanyang heard customers discussing the war sparked by the enemy nation of Beizhen.

The day Gu Wanyang finally made a name for herself in the capital through her delicious food, customers were once again discussing how Prince Dongjing had defeated the enemy and returned in triumph. Just then, the missing man appeared before Gu Wanyang in armor, riding a warhorse. The customers all dropped to their knees and cried out to him, “Long live Prince Dongjing!”

County Magistrate: “Your Highness, Gu Wanyang is a refugee from the south!”

Prince Dongjing: “So? What of it?”

County Magistrate: “Yes, yes! I’ll issue Gu Wanyang her household registration at once!”

Prince Dongjing: “Go ahead!”

--A few days later--

Prince Dongjing: “How did it go?”

County Magistrate: “Your Highness, Gu Wanyang has been registered!”

Prince Dongjing: “I didn’t know you were so quick at getting things done.”

County Magistrate: “I... I wasn’t the one who did it. Gu Wanyang took care of it herself.”

Prince Dongjing (thinking): “My wife is amazing!”

Guard: “Your Highness, how long do we have to keep meeting in secret like this?”

Prince Dongjing: “Until I find you all a princess consort, of course!”

Guard: “...”
