The Other Species

[Main story complete] Lu Ruo is an S-rank researcher with silver hair and silver eyes. Born without the capacity for emotion, he is widely known as an inorganic beauty. He is also the one person Zhong Bai, the head of a powerful consortium, has longed for but could never have. On the condition that Zhong Bai let him implant a detector and study him, Zhong Bai got his wish and became Lu Ruo’s boyfriend. They were together for three years. For all three years, Zhong Bai used every ounce of tenderness and patience to teach the emotionless young man with silver hair to wrap himself in a scarf and sit quietly by the flower bed, waiting for him. He thought he had become the “exception” in Lu Ruo’s cold world. Until the day he proposed, when Lu Ruo told him: “My research is complete.” The genius scientist Lu Ruo had one most important experimental subject: his childhood friend, who was also his boyfriend. He died unexpectedly in an experimental accident. Three years after the Silverwing Consortium’s airship crashed, Lu Ruo recovered his most perfect experimental subject. Only the perfect research subject he had once known had become a monster: Cold, golden eyes like those of a reptile. A dark silver, metallic exoskeleton. A sharp bone tail fastened around his wrist... And now it had turned him into its own “experimental subject.” Silver shackles locked around the young man’s wrists. The humanoid creature, with a familiar and handsome face, swung its metallic scorpion tail and slowly injected him with its pheromones. It spoke with greedy, chilling menace: “Research never ends.” Note: 1. Cyberpunk and interstellar nonhuman romance. The cover artist has granted permission. 2. A gentle, devoted top at first who later becomes a terrifyingly obsessive nonhuman x an emotionally deficient bottom who is abnormal both before and after. 3. This is not a conventional love story. Not recommended for readers with strong preferences about either character’s role. 4. Updates may be irregular for now. 5. Do not break up my ship!!!!!! And absolutely do not reverse their roles!!!!!!!!!! 6. Everyone has a different writing style. I don’t need anyone telling me what style to use. Coming soon: The First Boss of Strange Tales Synopsis 1 In the third year of spiritual qi revival, all of humanity is dragged into the real-life hunting game Strange Tales. The game randomly selects ghost stories to generate instances. Win, and the instance boss becomes a guardian deity protecting the region, keeping every evil spirit at bay. Lose, and the monsters fully revive, leaving every area involved in the instance completely overrun! The stakes are enormous. Players in the instances and viewers watching the livestreams hate nothing more than idiots who drag everyone down. Unfortunately, when a disaster-level instance opens, one such idiot gets matched into it. Long silver-gray hair, a world-weary face, and a sickly look. He sleeps while everyone else fights and takes a bath while everyone else flees. No matter how good-looking he is, he can’t hide that “I don’t want to live, so let’s all die together” vibe. He’s practically a walking curse. Then they click on his profile: A brand-new player, pure and simple. Everyone’s vision goes black. What the hell, the boss could swallow him in one bite! When Wei E cleared his first disaster instance, some people thought he’d just gotten lucky. After one apocalyptic instance after another was conquered, with people brought back from the brink of death and the wasteland set ablaze once more, they finally understood: it wasn’t luck. It was power enough to terrify every ghost! In the haunted sea of southern Fujian, he slays the Dragon King. At the dangerous Three Gorges shoals, he drives off the walking corpses. In the barren mountains of southern Zhen, he exposes the filth hidden beneath the Buddha’s robes. In the Kitchen God’s entrails, he boils up a pot of meat soup. In this absurd, hopeless world, he is the one walking among them as The First Boss! Synopsis 2 Wei E was once drawn into another, higher-dimensional infinite world. There, a minor instance opened every three days and a major one every five. Every instance was oppressive, deranged, and desperate, pushing people toward death. No player had ever lasted three years. Wei E was the first to have a chance of reaching his third year, before he blew up the Main God. As the Main God’s space collapsed, Wei E thought back on five years of risking his life in the infinite world and swore vehemently: If he got another life, he would never get dragged into this again! He opened his eyes and found himself back on the familiar Blue Star. Before he could even celebrate, he discovered... the Main God had come back with him. :) The day the hunting ground was destroyed, the Main God swore that sooner or later it would kill that insolent ant. Whenever Wei E brushed his teeth, he sometimes looked up to find the mirror bearing the words: “In one hundred days, I shall kill you.” On day fifty, a player confessed to Wei E. On day thirty, Wei E topped Strange Tales’ list of the most charming men. On day ten, an instance boss threw itself into his arms. On day five, day three, and every day in between, someone was on the forum announcing they were Wei E’s dog. On the final day, the Main God truly did grip Wei E by the throat, its voice dark and frenzied. “I told you, sooner or later I’d kill you.” But seeing Wei E’s careless smile, it thought perhaps it ought to try a different approach. For instance, taking the bottom. #Let’s be the most uninhibited people in this world# Notes: A nontraditional infinite-flow story. An evil god with many secret identities, all of them deranged, as the top x a ruthless, sharp-tongued, black-hearted bastard of a bottom. Theme: Even those who are different from the norm can be loved.
