[Coming soon: From the Republic of China to the Present. Visit the author’s page to check it out!] Shen Yuhan was the legitimate-born young master of the Marquis of Zhongyong’s household, renowned as “the finest young master in the capital.” Raised from childhood to meet the highest standards of a head wife, he was the perfect example among the capital’s young masters. Men seeking his hand could line up from the eastern city to the western city, and even the old emperor had nearly brought him into his harem. The state of Qi was beset by internal strife and outside threats, and its power declined year after year. The old emperor issued an edict sending Shen Yuhan to marry into another state. On the journey, bandits attacked, and Shen Yuhan accidentally fell from the carriage. When he opened his eyes again, he was in a strange world, and apparently he was due to marry someone in a few days. In the end, it seemed he couldn’t escape the fate of becoming someone’s spouse. - Shan Qihan was born into the complicated, wealthy Shan family. He had many siblings, and his outstanding abilities had made him CEO of a publicly traded company before he turned thirty. He was one of the finest members of the Shan family’s younger generation. Because of one absurd dream his father had, their family had to choose someone to marry an idle wastrel who smoked, drank, went clubbing, competed for attention at banquets, and had been pushed into a swimming pool. Supposedly, this wastrel was the only grandson of his father’s late friend. After a fortune-teller read their fortunes, Shan Qihan was selected from among his many brothers. Hmph. After the wedding, he would ignore the wastrel and treat him coldly, until the man gave up and knew his place. - On their wedding night, Shen Yuhan stood nervously in front of Shan Qihan, ready to undo the buttons of his suit. Shan Qihan, who couldn’t stand people getting close to him, wanted to brush his hand away. But when Shen Yuhan gently took his hand, the other man looked up. Shen Yuhan’s cheeks flushed. He asked softly, “Darling, shall we rest?” This was how people here addressed their husbands, wasn’t it? Under the gaze of the beautiful man with clear, innocent eyes, Shan Qihan took a breath. “Let’s rest.” - This is an uplifting story about a young master from ancient times who transmigrates to the modern world and works hard to become a modern person. ◆ A setting where same-sex marriage is legal. He studied the Eight-Legged Essay and the Four Books and Five Classics with his grandfather, and was engaged from childhood to the daughter of another family. But his fiancée, who had studied abroad and held progressive views, broke off the engagement. She tactfully told him he was too rigid, old-fashioned, and boring, and that she could never be happy with him. Later, he lived through the ravages of war and gave away his family’s entire fortune to save people from disaster. Later still, he joined the army and died in the war. He thought death was the end, but he never expected it to be a new beginning. He returned to a family that was both traditional and open-minded. Traditional, because his family sent him into an arranged marriage. Open-minded, because his match was a man. - Nan Shuyi loved freedom and did as he pleased. He made the headlines every day for one scandal or another, so calling him a spoiled playboy wouldn’t be wrong. To make Nan Shuyi mend his ways, the Nan family forced an arranged marriage on him. The day before the wedding, he complained to his friends with disdain, “Hmph. I’d never sleep with a man in my life.” On the wedding day, his arranged partner sat before him like a young gentleman from the Republic of China. His lips curved slightly, his smile restrained and impeccable. He softly addressed Nan Shuyi as “Sir.” Nan Shuyi’s body stiffened. He straightened the tie he had pulled crooked in irritation and stood up straight. Jiang Yicen thought that after finally making it to an era without war, where he could live in peace and safety, he could accept anything. What did it matter if he called his arranged partner “Sir”? He had come a very long way from the Republic of China to reach this place. Years later, Jiang Yicen decided his former fiancée had been wrong. His life hadn’t been all that boring after all. - A story about a bottom from the Republic of China who transmigrates to the modern era and meets his top. A marriage that begins before love. Theme: The meeting of ancient and modern cultures.
